O Molohan or Mollahan or O Molan, which see - Irish / Ua Mothlachain or O Mallaghan, which see - Irish / Ua Maolachain. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the Co. Leitrim in Northern Connacht and nearby in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster. Known as O Mollahan in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province and some also changed to O Mulligan.

O Molony or *O Moloney or O Mullony or O Mullowney or O Maloney - Irish / Ua Maol Dhomhnaigh (Descended from a servant of the Church) maol / bald tonsure - dohnach / Sunday. A Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Sept / Family branch who were the *Chiefs of Kiltannon / Cuiltenan (Parish of Kiltonanlea in the Barony of Tulla in Co. Clare in the north - west of Thomond / Tuaisceart Mhumhain / Northern Munster where they had their territory). They also migrated to Co. Tipperary and Co. Limerick in Northern Munster. Ancestors: *92.Blood / Blod (Ui Bloid), *91.Cas (Dal gCais) the King of Thomond, *85.Cormac "Cass" (Dal gCais), *37.Heber "Fionn." (Heberians)

O Molony or Mac Loughney. A Sept / Family branch of the O Maloughney, which see, - Irish / Ua and Mheic Maol Fhachtna (Descended from a devotee of St. Fachtna) who had their territory in the north of Co. Tipperary in Ormond / Aur Mhumhain / North Eastern Munster who used these names.

Mac Moloney, or *Mac Downey or *Mac Eldowney - Irish / Mheic Giolla Dhomhnaigh (Descended from a son of the servant of the Church) A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the Ulster Province and in *Co. Antrim and *Co. Down in the east of Ulster. It was also sometimes used for illegitimate children of the clergy.

O Moloney. Actually O Molumby, which see - Irish / Ua Maol Chomadh. An Ithian Corca Loigde Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the south - west of Co. Cork in Desmond / Des Mhumhain / Southern Munster who were also in Co. Tipperary in Ormond / North Eastern Munster and used this name there. See also O Maloughney.
