O Meara, or O Mara, which see - Irish / Ua Meadhra - meadhra / merry. A Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Turlough Sept / Family branch - who were the Chiefs of Ui Fahy. They took their name from their Chief, *Meadhra, whose territory was at Toomevara / Tuaim Ui Mheara / "O Meara's Grave Mound"  in Co. Tipperary in Ormond / Aur Mhumhain / North Eastern Munster. Kinsmen to the O Scanlans, and Mac Arthurs of Co. Limerick. O Meares. Used as a synonym with O Meere, which see, who were in Thomond / Northern Munster.

Meares. English origins. They were in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster and also in Northern Leinster. Mair, Mairs and Mayers used as variants in the Ulster Province.

O Mearn or O Mearns. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Colla da Crioch Sept / Family branch who had their territory in their kingdom of Orghialla / Airghialla / Oriel in Southern Ulster and nearby in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster. Used as a variant for O Marron, which Especially see.

Roscommon in the east of the Connacht Province and as O Mea nearby in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of Connacht. It was also used as a synonym for Meehan and Mac Namee, which see, in the south of Co. Down in the south - east of the Ulster Province.

O Meegan or O Meehan - Irish / Ua Miadhagain. Derivation as O Mee. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Monaghan in Southern Ulster. Known as O Meehan in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster.

O Meehan or O Meighan or *O Meeghan - Irish / Ua Miothain. A Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil Erenagh Sept / Family branch, who were kinsmen to the Mac Carthys of Desmond / Des Mhumhain / Southern Munster, which see and were also nearby in Co. Tipperary in Ormond / Aur Mhumhain / North Eastern Munster. In the 11th Century AD they migrated to Co. Leitrim in Northern Connacht where they were the Chiefs of Ballymeehin at Rossinver. They held a 6th Century AD manuscript of St. Molaisse of Devenish in Co. Fermanagh in the south - west of the Ulster Province in their keeping for a 1,000 years, which is now in the National Museum in Dublin in Co. Dublin. They were known as *O Meeghan in Co. Monaghan in Southern Ulster. They were also nearby in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province.
