De Manderville / de Moinbhiol. Norman origins. They came into Ireland in the 12th Century AD and were later Gaelicized as Mheic Uillin / Mac Quillan (Descended from a son of Hugh) and were at Route in the north of Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province where they not only adopted Gaelic names but also the Irish Brehon Law. Dunluce Castle, which is now in ruins was on the high rock on the sea next to the Giant’s Causeway at Bushmills in Co. Antrim were it was held by them until they were to be eventually driven out by the Mac Donnells under Soyle Boye Mac Donnell who then struggled with the English to keep hold of it, and it is now held by the Government in trust. Rory Mac Quillan had also founded Bo na Marghy Friary on the River Marghy at Bally Castle in Co. Antrim where there is a Mac Donnell Tomb. They were also in Co. Down in the south - east of Ulster and some later also migrated to Co. Tipperary and Co. Waterford in the east of the Munster Province and changed their name there to Mansfield, which see.

Mandeville. Originally de Maydewell. Norman origins. They were at Ballydine in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province and in the 16th Century AD took up this name.
