Kemp / kempe / athlete. English origins. They have been in Ireland since the 14th Century AD and are numerous in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster and are also in Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province. Also see - Campbell.

Kemple. English toponymic origins. A variant for Kemble, which see. They were in the east of Co. Galway in Southern Connacht.

O Kendillon. Used as a variant for Kindellan, which see, in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster.

Mac Kendrick / Eanrac - German personal name / home rule. Gaelic / Mheic Eanraic.  Mac used in the north west of the Ulster Province.  Kenrick and Condrick used in the Munster Province. Also see Kenrick.

O Kendrigan - Irish / Ua Cinndeargain - dearg / red - ceann / head. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province and nearby in the west of the Connacht Province.

Mac Kendry. Used as a variant for Mac Henry, which see, in the north - east of the Ulster Province.

O Kenealy. See - O Kinnealy.

Kenefic / Cinipheic. Welsh locative origins. They came into the Leinster Province in the 13th Century AD and are now in Co. Cork in Southern Munster.

Kenehan. See - Kinahan.

Kenerney. See - Kinnarney.

Kenirons. Origin unknown as yet. They were in the north of Co. Tipperary in the north - west of the Munster Province. Some also abbreviated their name to Irons.

Keniry or Kinniry. Used as variants for Mac Eniry, which see, in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province.

Mac Kenna or Mac Kennagh - Irish / Mheic Cionaith. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Southern" Ui Niaill Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster. They were brought north into the Ulster Province as mercenaries into Clogher were they also became Chiefs at Truagh on the border of Co. Tyrone and Co. Monaghan in Central Southern Ulster. Like most of the other Gaelic Families they survived as a such until the 17th Century AD under the ongoing English ethnic and religious oppression. Their last Chief was Patrick who died in 1616 AD at Emyvale in Co. Monaghan. They are now also in Co. Clare and Co. Kerry in the west of the Munster Province and Leinster Province. Variants are Kennaw, Ginna, Gna etc. Ancestors - *87.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland (Ui Niaill).

Mac Kenna or Mac Kennan - Irish / Mheic Fhionnain - fionn / fair. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Colla da Crioch Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Monaghan and nearby in Co. Armagh in Southern Munster. In 1659 AD Mac Kennon was also prominent at Ardee in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster. Without the Mac it is confused with Kinnane and with the Mac it is confused with the Scottish Mac Kinnon. Ancestors - *85.Murray / Muiredach "Colla da Crioch / Focrith" - of the Two Countries, *84.Eochy / Echu "Doimhlen," *83.Cairbre "Liffeachair" the 116th King of Tara / Ireland.

O Kennedy - Irish / Ua Ceaneidigh / Cinneidi - ceann / head - eidigh / ugly. A Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Turlough Siol gCeanneidigh Sept / Family branch -  who had their territory in the east of Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province and were later on Chiefs of Ormond / Aur Mhumhain in the north of Co. Tipperary in the north - east of Munster. They are descended directly from *106.Kennedy / Ceaneidigh a son of 105.Duncan / Donncuan, a son of *104.Kennedy / Ceaneidigh who was the King of Thomond / Northern Munster in the 10th Century AD. *105.Duncan was also a brother to 105.Brian "Boru" the King of Thomond, 41st King of Cashel / Munster and the 170th High King of Ireland, and also to 105.Mahon the King of Thomond and 39th King of Munster and to 105. Ahern / Eachthighearn the direct ancestor of the Ahernes. The O Kennedys had their territory originally at Killaloe in the east of Co. Clare until they were driven out by the Mac Namaras the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Caisin Lord Chief Marshalls under their kinsmen the Heberian Ui Bloid Ui Turlough O Briens / Ui mBriain. They then settled into Co. Tipperary where they were Kings and Chiefs and also nearby into Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster. There  they were the Chiefs in their kingdom of Aur Mhumhain / Ormond for 400 years until the 16th Century AD. They were in 3 Septs, O Kennedy "Donn" / of Brown Complexion, O Kennedy "Fionn" / of Fair Complexion, O Kennedy "Rua" / of Red Complexion. Their territory there was then taken over by the Anglo - Norman Butlers and they were driven down into *Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster. The  famous Kennedys of America had their ancestral home there at Dunganstown near New Ross, four and a half miles south near the River Barrow and they were also in Co. Kerry in the south - west of Munster.
