O Hussey or O Husse or O Hosey - Irish / Ui hEodhusa. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Colla Bardic Sept / Family branch who were Brehon Lawyers with the Maguires, who had their territory in Co. Fermanagh and nearby in Co. Tyrone in the south - west of the Ulster Province. Bonaventura O Hussey (1570 - 1614) was a Franciscan poet from the Irish College in Louvain in France. Ancestors - *84.Eochy / Echu "Doimhlen," *83.Cairbre "Liffeachair" the 116th King of Tara / Ireland.

Hussey or Husse. Used as a variant for de Hosey, which see - Anglo Norman origins. They were in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province and were English Barons in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster. By 1578 AD they had taken over the Dingle / Daingean area in Co. Kerry as subordinates to the Fitz Geralds. Later some also came as Elizabethan Planters and were in Co. Cork in Southern Munster after the Desmond Rebellion against her ongoing ethnic and religious oppression. Douglas Hyde (1860 - 1949) Ireland’s 1st President was born at Rath Croghan Road in Co. Roscommon in the east of the Connacht Province, but his family was originally from Co. Cork.
