Hobert -

Hobson. (Descended from a son of Robert) English origins. They were in Ireland in the Mid - 17th Century AD mainly in the Ulster Province, but also in other Counties.

Hoctor. See - Haughton.

Hodder / hoodmaker. English origins. They were in Co. Cork in Southern Munster in the Mid - 17th Century AD.

O Hode or O Hoade / Irish - Ui hOdach. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province and nearby in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht.

Hodge - See - Hodgins.

Hodges. They have been in Ireland since the late 16th Century AD. Often confused with Hodgins.

Hogg. English origins. They were in the Ulster Province. Also used by some O Hagans, which see, as a synonym.

O Hoggan. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Tyrone in Central Ulster who used it as a variant for O Hagan, which see.

Hoins. Use as a variant for Hynes and Owens, which see, in Co. Tyrone and Co. Fermanagh in the south west of the Ulster Province.

O Holohan. See - O Hoolahan.

Holcroft -

Holden (Residence in a hollow valley) Breton English locative origins. Used as a variant for Howlin. Gaelicized as Huilin / Hugo, or of Hoel used as a synonym of Walsh earlier on. They were in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster and nearby in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster.
