O Gormoge. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province, where they were Chiefs.

O Gorry or O Gorey or O Gurry - Irish / Ua Guaire / noble. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Northern Leinster.

Mac Gorry - Irish / Mheic Gothraidh. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin O Reilly Sept / Family branch, which see, who had their territory in Co. Cavan and Co. Tyrone in Central Ulster. Goslin. See - Gosnell.

Gosnell. They were in the west of Co. Cork in Southern Munster in the 18th Century AD and some changed to Gosling, which see.

Gossan. See - Gaussen.

Gough / Goch / Originally Coch / red. Welsh origins. They came into Ireland in the 13th Century AD and settled in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province and in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster. They became identified with the Irish National cause especially in the 17th Century AD. Occasionally also used as a synonym for Mac Geough, which see.

Gould or Goold - gul / gold. Danish English origins. They were in Co. Cork in Southern Munster in Medieval Times.

Kinsmen to the Mac Dorcy / Mac Dorcey / Mac Dorchy / Mac Darcy / Mheic Dorchaidhe and the Ui Bathbairr, Ui Braici, Ui Buibhin, Ui Chailti, Ui Cianacain, Ui Conbhuidhe, Ui Darnaigh of the Cenel Luachain, Ui Dimusaigh, Ui Dubhain (Inis Doiri Dubhain), Ui Erailb, Ui Eturrain, Ui Gabhadain, Ui Mael Padraig, Ui Mael Suthain, Ui Muirneachain, Ui Tredmain, Tellach Tanaidhe, Tellach Cleirigh. O Doonan / O Donayne / O Donnan / O Doonane / O Dounan / O Dunnan / O Dynan, O Kearon / O Kerrane / O Kerrivane / O Kerwan / O Kirrane. Anglicized to Darcy in Co. Mac Gourley - Irish / Mheic Thoirdealbhaigh. Used as a variant for Mac Turley, which see, in Co. Tyrone and Co. Antrim in the Ulster Province.

Mac Gourty -

Mac Govern or Mac Goveran or Magauran or Mac Gowran - Irish / Mag Shamhradhain - Samradh / Summer. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Sept / Family branch, from the kingdom of Breifne, who were directly descended from *Shamhradhan O Rourke who was their Chief in the 11th Century AD, who was himself descended from *Eochy O Rourke / Eochaidh Ua Ruairc in the 8th Century AD whose name was given to Co. Cavan. They had their territory at Tullyhaw / Teallach Eochaidh in the north west of Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster where Ballymagauran is in the center of their territory. Ancestors - *Shamhradhan O Rourke, *Eochy O Rourke, *87.Brion the original 1st King of Connacht (Ui Briuin), *86.Eochy "Mugmedon" the 124th King of Tara / Ireland.

Governey. Origins unknown as yet, but may be French Huguenot - Gouvernet ?  Originally they were in Co. Laois in the mid - west of Southern Leinster and later in Co. Carlow in Southern Leinster.

Gow / Gabha / blacksmith. Smith is a synonym used for Gow, which see, in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster and in the north of Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster. See also Mac Gowan.

O Gowan or Smith - Irish / Ua Gabhann (Descended from the Smith) A Clerical Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the Ui Briuin kingdom of Breifne in Co. Leitrim in Northern Connacht and nearby in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster. Now mostly found in the north - east in the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kingdom of Orghialla / Oriel in Co. Armagh and Co. Down in the south - east of the Ulster Province.  Not connected to Mac Gowan. Ancestors - *87.Brion the original 1st King of Connacht  (Ui Briuin), *86.Eochy "Mugmedon" the 124th King of Tara / Ireland.

Mac Gowan or Smith - Irish / Mheic an Ghabhann - Gabha (Descended from a son of the Smith) A Sept / Family branch, who were Chiefs in their territory in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster. Many there changed to Smith.

Mac Gowan or Smith. Originally Mheic Dubhain. Mheic Ghabhann now used. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province.
