Godfrey. English origins. The Poul na Raha Priory in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province was originally founded by Geoffrey de Marisco in 1215 AD on the Celtic Monastery of Killagla / Cill Acaro / The Church of the Field. After the Catholic Irish Institutions were suppressed, it and the land there were also given to his family with "No Irish allowed to buy or rent." It was later on taken over by Oliver Cromwell during his Invasion and given to this family and they are still there today.
