Gleasure. English origins. Glazier used as a variant. Recent arrivals into Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province.

Mac Gleen. Used as a variant for Mac Glynn, which see, in the east of the Connacht Province.

Mac Gleenan - Irish / Mheic Giolla Fhinein. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Armagh in the south - east of the Ulster Province. See also - Mac Aleenan.

Gleese / de Glys. They were in the east of Co. Galway in Southern Connacht in the 15th Century AD.

O Gleeson or O Glissane - Irish / Ua Glasain / Ua Gliasain / Ua Glesain. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Kerry in Iar Mhumhain / South Western Munster and were also in Co. Tipperary in Ormond / Aur Mhumhain / North Eastern Munster with the main Sept there in the Heberian Dal gCais kingdom of Lower Ormond, and were kinsmen to the O Donegans, which see - Irish / Ui Donnagain. Glissane used in Co. Kerry.

Glenaghan - Irish / Mag Leannachain. Used as a variant for Mac Clenaghan, which see.

Glendenning. Scottish toponymic origins. They were in Co. Antrim and Co. Tyrone in the Ulster Province after the Confiscation of the 3,500,000 acres of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill territories and the non - Catholic Plantations there in the early 17th Century AD.

Mac Glew. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kingdom of Orghialla / Airghialla / Oriel - in Southern Ulster and nearby in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster. Could also be a synonym of Mac Aleavy? Changed to Mac Leod in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster.

Mac Glinchy or Mac Clinchy - Irish / Mag Loingsigh - loingseach / mariner. (Descended from a son of the Mariner) A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Donegal, Co. Derry and Co. Tyrone in the Ulster Province. As Mac instead of Mag they anglicized their name as Mac Clinchy, which see.
