Franklin - frankeleyn / freeholder. English origins. They have been in Co. Limerick and nearby in Co. Tipperary in Northern Munster since the late 17th Century AD.

O Frawley - Irish / Ua Freaghaile. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Clare and Co. Limerick in Thomond / Tuaiscert Mhumhain / Northern Munster.

Frayne. See - Frain and De Freyne.

Frazer or Fraser. (derived from Frizel) Scottish origins. They were in the Ulster Province. Used as a synonym of Frizell there.

Free. Used for Freeman in Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster.

Freeborne. English origins. They were in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster in the Mid - 17th Century AD and are now mainly found in Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province. Also known as Frebern.

O Freely - Irish / Ua Frighile. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province. Also cognate with O Friel.

Freeman. English origins. Used to also anglicize Mac Ateer, which see. See also Free.

Freeney / de Freine. They were in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province and surrounding regions with Freeneystown nearby in Co. Kilkenny / Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster. See also - De Freyne.

Frew / Freowine. Anglo Saxon origins. They are in the north - east of the Ulster Province.

Frewen. Anglo Saxon origins. Freowine. They are in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster and in Co. Cork in Southern Munster.

De Freyne or de Frayne or Freney - frene / ash tree. Anglo Norman origins. They were in Co. Kilkenny / Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster and were important from the 13th Century AD on. Freeney was also used as a variant, which see.

Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province and were directly descended from *91.Eogan who was a brother to 91.St. Columb "Cille" / St. Columba / the Dove of the Church. They had the hereditary right of inaugurating their kinsmen, the O Donnells as the Chiefs and Kings of Tir Conaill / Tyrconnell (The Land of 88.Conall) now known as Co. Donegal. Ancestors - *88.Conall "Gulban" the 1st King of Tir Conaill / Tyrconnell (Cenel Conaill), *87.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland (Ui Niaill).

Frisby. English toponymic origins. They have been in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster since the Mid - 17th Century AD.

Frost. English origins. They were in Ireland in Medieval Times and have been in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province since 1700 AD.
