Mac Finucane - Irish / Mheic Fionnmhacain - fionn / fair haired - mac - son. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Clare in the north - west of Thomond / Tuaiscert Mhumhain / Northern Munster. Also known as Kinucane there.

Mac Firbis or Forbes - Irish / Mheic Firbhisigh / man of property. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Fiachrach Muadh Ui Dubhda Sept / Family branch who were Chiefs and hereditary historians, who had their territory in the south of Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province. They were dispossessed from their Lecan Castle there where they were scholars and historians who compiled the "Yellow Book of Lecan" and the "Great Book of Lecan." Dubhaltach Mac Firbis the hereditary historian from Co. Sligo taught in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of Ormond / North Eastern Munster and he followed on from the "Book of Leinster," which ended in 1119 AD, the "Book of Ballymote" and the "Book of Lecan," which ended in 1399 AD. He wrote down the genealogies of the Irish Tuaths, the Irish Saints, the Irish Kings, the Irish Chroniclers and the Irish Brehon Laws from 1399 AD up to 1646 AD. He continued to do this work, during *Oliver Cromwell's Invasion while *he was endeavouring to wipe out all trace of the Irish Catholic race, and every Irish door was open to him up to his 85th year. At that great old age, Crofton an Englishman murdered him at Doonflin in Co. Sligo while he was on his way down to Dublin. The last member of their male line was also stabbed to death in Skreen. They are now usually known as Forbes. Ancestors - *88.Daithi the 127th King of Tara / Ireland, *87.Fiachra the original 2nd King of Connacht (Ui Fiachrach), *86.Eochy "Mugmedon" the 124th King of Tara / Ireland.
