Fanagan - Used as a variant for Finegan, which see.

Fane - well disposed - English origins. They were the English Viscounts Fane and the English Barons of Loughuire. They were in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of the Munster Province. Also used as a synonym for Feehin, which see.

Fanning or Fannin or Fainin. Norman origins. They were in Ballingarry in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province in the 15th Century AD and then in Fanningstown - Ballyfanning in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of Munster. See also Finan.

Fannon - Irish - Ua Fionnain. A Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Galway & Co. Roscommon in Southern Connacht. See also Finan. Used also as a variant for Fanning, which see.

Fant - Le Enfaunt - de la Faunte?  One of the 14 "Foreign" Tribes of Galway in Southern Connacht.

Fant - Le Enfaunt  de la Faunte? They were in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of the Munster Province in the 14th Century AD where there is Fantstown.

Fanton - Used as a variation for Fenton, which see.

Faraugher - See Fraher.

Fardy - English origins. They were in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster in the Barony of Bargy. May also be a variant of Faraday?

Mac Farland - Irish - Mheic Pharthalain. Used as a variation for Mac Partlan, which see, in Co. Armagh & Co. Tyrone in the Ulster Province.

Farley - Anglicized name used by some members of the O Farrellys, which see, in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster.

Farlow - English toponymic origins. They were in Ireland fighting on the Irish side during the William of Orange siege of Limerick City and then for the English against the Irish in the 17th Century AD.

Farmer - Irish - Mheic an Scoloige. An Erenagh Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Fermanagh in the south - west of the Ulster Province. Mac Scollog is still in use in Co. Monaghan in Southern Ulster.

Farnon or Farnan - Irish - Ua Farannain. An Erenagh Sept - Family branch - who had their territory at Ardstraw in Co. Tyrone in Central Ulster.

Farquhar or Farker or Forker - Scottish origins. Gaelic - fearchair - dear man. They were in Co. Down in the south - east of the Ulster Province.

O Farraher or Faraugher - Irish - Ua Fearchair - dear man. A Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Galway & Co. Mayo in South Western Connacht. See also Fraher.

O Farranan - A Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Meath in the east of Northern Leinster.

O Farrell or O Ferrall - Irish - Ua Fhearghail - man of valour. A Gaelic Milesian Irian Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster at Longphort Ui Fhearghail - "O Farrell’s Fortress," where they were the Chiefs of Annaly. They were directly descended from *105Fergal - Fhearghail who was the one of the Irish Kings at Clontarf in 1014 AD who supported 105.Brian "Boru" - of the Tributes the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Turlough 170th High King of Ireland against the Vikings. *105.Fergal's great - grandfather *102.Angall gave his name to their territory at Annaly in Co. Longford where they ruled for 7 Centuries. They were also in Co. Meath in the east of Northern Leinster until their territories there were also eventually Confiscated by the English. Ancestors *62.Rory "Mor" & *37.Ir.

O Farrelly or Farley - Irish - Ua Faircheallaigh - fearghaile. A Co - Arb Sept - Family branch who had their territory in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster where they were Chiefs, and in Co. Meath in Northern Leinster.

O Farren - Irish - Ua Farachain. A Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province and were Chiefs of Finross. Also used there for Fearon, which see - Irish - Ui Fearain.
