O Dinkin - Irish / Ua Duinnchinn / brown head. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the north of the Connacht Province. Many also changed to Duncan.

O Dirreen - Irish / Ua Dirin. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster.

O Diskin - Irish / Ua Discin - diosc / barren. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory at Ballydiscin in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province and now also in the south of Connacht.

O Diveney or O Divenny - Irish / Ua Duibheanaigh - dubh / black - eanach. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province. Cognate also with Devanny.

Dix. Irish origins. They were in France known there as de Aix.

Di. Used as a variant for Dick, which see. They were in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster since the Mid - 17th Century AD.
