Clare in the north - west of Thomond / Tuaisceart Mhumhain / Northern Munster. They were one of the main Dalcassian Septs in Co Clare who also anglicized their name as Godwin in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province and also as Day and Daw, which see. They were also Chiefs in Co. Cork in Desmond / Des Mhumhain / Southern Munster and Kings in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of Ormond / Aur Mhumhain / Eastern Munster. Descended from *92.Aengus “Cinnathrach" / "Ceann Nathrach” the fifth son of *91.Cas the King of Thomond.
