Mac Colley. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Galway and nearby in Co. Roscommon in the south - east of the Connacht Province. May also be a variant for Cooley, which see.

Colley. English origins. They were in Ireland during the reign of Henry V111, and later acquired the Wellesley Estates and name, which see.

Collier or Colyer / Coileir. English occupational name. They have been in Ireland since 1305 AD in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster, and are now mainly found in Co. Carlow, Co. Kilkenny and Co. Wexford in Southern Leinster.

O Collins - Irish / Ua Choileanin  / Ua Coileain - coilean / whelp. A Heberian Eoghanacht Sept / Family branch, who were the Kings of Conaill Gabhra and Chiefs of Connello in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of Thomond / Northern Munster. In 1178 AD as the main Sept of the Family they were driven out by the Anglo Norman Invaders and settled in the west of Co. Cork in Desmond / Southern Munster with the Ui Cuilleain Sept. Those from the original Tuath / Family region, who had remained behind in their original territory became the Kings of Claonghas in the south - west of Co.
