Butt. Some were in Ireland in the 17th Century AD, but their main claim to fame was through Isaac Butt who was born in Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province who formed the Irish Parliamentary Party, laying the foundation for William Charles Parnell to bring about reforms in Ireland against the continual English persecution and oppression of all things Irish.

A Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Lughaidh Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Sept / Family branch, who are descended from *94.Dunlaing who was a Prince of Leinster Province descended from *84.Cu "Corb" the ancestor of the Kings of Leinster. He in turn was descended from *59.Ugaine the Great and his son *60.Leary / Laoghaire who were both Heremonian Kings of Tara / Ireland and descendants of *37.Heremon. They were more directly descended from the Crioch Branach Sept through *109.Bran the 47th King of Leinster in the early 11th Century AD, who was deposed in 1018 AD. After they were driven out of Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster by the invading Anglo Norman English in the early 13th Century AD they settled into / Maoiliura’s Valley / Glenmalure in the south of the Co. Wicklow mountains in the south - east of Southern Leinster, where they were also Chiefs and Kings. It remained their stronghold until the early 17th Century AD when their Chief was killed by the English and their territory there was also taken over. This included the Vale of Glendalough and the Sugar Loaf Mountains, Enniskerry and Dargle near Bray. Later on the English Lord Powerscourt was granted the 26,000 acres there by the Stuart French English King, James 1st. Originally the Anglo - Normans under de La Poer, the ancestor of the Powers, who came with Strongbow / Richard de Clare, during the Anglo Norman Invasion, had originally taken it from the Irish Families there. Much to their great credit the "ferocious" Ui Dunlaing O Byrnes and their kinsmen, the O Tooles were able to retake it even during Henry VIII’s reign. The English later once again Confiscated it, after they killed the O Byrne Chief and it was then given to the Talbots until 1608 AD.
