Beard - Barbe - They were in Co. Laois & Co. Dublin in the north of Southern Leinster and in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province in the 16th Century AD. Also occasionally used as a variant for Baird, which see.

O Beargha - They anglicized their name to Barry, which see.

Bearn -

O Beary - Irish - Ua Beara. A Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Cu Corb Sept - Family branch - of the O Dempseys, which see, who had their territory in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster.

Beasley - Beaslaoi - English toponymic origins. The were from Lancashire and were in Ireland in the Mid - 17th Century AD.

O Beasty - Irish - Ua Biasta. A Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Sept - Family branch -  who were descended from a King of Connacht. and had their territory in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province.

Mac Beatty - Irish - Mheic Biataigh - biadhtach. A Sept - Family branch - whose territory was near Athlone in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster. See also Beatagh & Betagh.

Beatty - Baty - Bartholomew - Scottish origins. The came from Galloway after 1603 AD and were in Co Fermanagh in the south - west of the Ulster Province.

Becher - beech tree - They were landed Gentry who have been in Co. Cork in Southern Munster since the end of the 16th Century AD.

Beck - English origins - They have 4 derivations. They were in Ireland in Mediaeval Times and are now mainly to be found in the Ulster Province.

Beck -  Used by the Irish - Ua Beice. See Beakey.

Beckett - French English origins. In Ireland in the 14th Century AD they became established in the 15th Century AD in the Leinster Province and are now in the north of the Ulster Province and in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster.

O Beegan - Used as a variant for Behan, which see, in Ballinasloe in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht.

Beg -

Begg or Begge - beag - small - Norman origins. They were in the Leinster Province and were originally known as Bueg in Co. Cork in Southern Munster and as Beggs in the Ulster Province. Also used as a variant for Bigge - English.

O Begley - Irish - Ua Beaglaoich - beag - little / laoch - hero. A Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province. A sub - branch migrated to Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province as galloglasses - mercenaries in the 15th Century AD. They were also in Co. Cork in Southern Munster & Co. Waterford in the south - east of Munster.

O Beglin or O Beglan - Irish - Ua Beigleighinn - beag - little / leighinn - scholarship. A Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in Co. Westmeath & Co. Longford  in the west of Northern Leinster. Occasionally anglicized also as Bagnall.

Begney - Used as a synonym for Beglin, which see, and sometimes changed to Bagnall.

O Behan or O Beaghan - Irish - Ua Beachain - beach - bee. A Sept - Family branch - who were Chiefs in their territory in Co. Offaly & Co. Kildare in Mid Southern Leinster. They were also in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province and also connected to Co. Clare in the north - west of Munster.

O Beirne - Irish - Ua Birn - Ua Beirn / Bjorn - A Norse name. An important Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Sept - Family branch -n who had their territory in Co. Mayo & Co. Roscommon in the Connacht Province where they were the Chiefs of Tir Briuin (Land of Brion.) Ancestor *87.Brion.

Bell - French - bel - beautiful or handsome - English origins. Descended from Gilbert le Fitz Bel. They arrived after 1603 AD and they were in the north - east of the Ulster Province with several variations also used.
