Ui Maine of Connacht - A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Sept - Family branch - anglicized as Hy Many - founded originally by *84.Eochy - Eochaidh "Doimhlen" a brother to 84.Fiacha "Sraibhtine" who was the 120th King of Tara - Ireland in 285 AD whose adjoining territory took in Co. Galway & Co. Roscommon in the Connacht Province, Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province nearby in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster. In 357 AD *86.Maine "Mor," a brother to 86.Eochy "Mugmedon" the 124th King of Tara - Ireland, who was then the King there took over further territory in the south - east of Connacht from the Fir Bolg Sept there. Their main Sept - Family branch eventually became the O Kellys who had their territory in the east of Co. Galway and in the Barony of Athlone in Co. Roscommon becoming known there as the Mainig - (Men of the Ui Maine.)1307 AD the Clann Cellaig - Kelly and Tir Maine - (The Land of Maine - (Mheic Ecach). Ui Mall - A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Sept - Family branch- descended directly from 87.Brion also, who were to culminate in the O Malleys, and had their territory near Westport on the north - west coast of the Connacht Province.

Fir Manach - The Men of Manach - A Sept - Family branch - who were originally from the Leinster Province (See Menapii) who eventually had their territory in Co. Fermanagh in the south - west of the Ulster Province above Enniskillen where the name Monaghan is quite numerous who were possibly the original inhabitants there and were centred on Lurg but eventually migrated into Co. Monaghan & Co. Derry.

Clann Mathgamna - Mac Mahons - A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Colla Sept - Family branch - who in 1537 AD had their territory at Clonmahon in Co Cavan in Southern Ulster descended from 84.Eochy "Doimhlen."

Medraige - A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Maine Sept - Family branch - of which *Marcan mac Tommain was the King who was killed in 653 AD who was married to 96.Creidhe a daughter of 95.Guaire "Aidni" the Southern Ui Fiachrach Prince. The Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muiredaig O Connors - Ui Conchobair were to later also claim her as their ancestress.

Ui Meith - A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Colla Sept - Family - branch - who had their territory in Co. Monaghan below Enniskillen in Southern Ulster, in the east of the territory of their kinsmen thr 3 Colla Ui Cremthainn Sept, and to the south east of Armagh and to the north - west of the 3 Colla Mugdorna Maigen Sept. 672 AD - Scannlan was their King, who was son of Fingen.

Ui Meath Macha Sept -

Medraige Sept - had their territory at Clarinbridge in Co. Galway in the south - west of the Connacht Province to the north - east of Maenmag and to the north of Durlas and the territory of the "Southern" Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Aidne Sept.

Clann Meibricc - Hibernized - 1337 AD the Merricks of Co. Mayo and Co. Galway in the mid - west of the Connacht Province.  

Menapii - Manapii - Monaig Fir Bolg Celtic Sept whose original territory was in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province, and in the adjoining territory in Co. Wicklow and Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster where their territory bordered on the River Slaney - Modonus - on the bank of which was their chief fortress of Menapia - Wexford. They were also nearby in Co. Kildare in Mid Southern Leinster in the eastern part. Descended from the Menapii in Belgic Gaul they were also to evolve into the Fir Manach Sept (which see,) in Co. Fermanagh in the south - west of the Ulster Province.

Dal Messin Corb - A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian  Ui Laoghaire Cu Corb Sept - Family branch - descended directly from *87.Mess "Corb" one of the 4 sons of *86.Cu "Corb" the direct ancestor of all the Cu Corb Septs in the Leinster Province who had their territory below their kinsmen the Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain Sept. Their Ui Garrchon sub - Sept, were to leave 2 Kings of Leinster descended from *90.Garrchu, who had their original territory on the east coast below their other kinsmen, the Ui Briuin "Cualann" Sept.

Clann Mhorna: A Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Sept - Family branch - who had their territory in the Midlands - Northern Leinster, who were descended also from *59.Ugaine the Great the 66th King of Tara - Erinn and they led the Heremonian King's Fianna warriors for 32 years. Goll mac Mhorna a contemporary of 80.Conn of the Hundred Battles the 110th King of Tara - Ireland was unusual in Irish history as he had been born as a result of a Caesarean operation carried out by a Druid and would grow up to be the leader of the Connacht Fianna warriors in his own right for 10 years who had 3 regiments of 3,000 men each to defend the coast of Ireland. During the Winter they would depend on the support of the population and in the Summer forage for themselves. They were men of culture, poets and warriors known as the Fianna Erinn
