Seanchus of Celtic Ireland - 20 *37.Heremon one of the 3 surviving sons of *36.Mil took all of the country north of the Rivers Boyne and Shannon to Cape Clear and in time his Gaelic Milesian Heremonian descendants spasmodically became the Kings of Tara / Ireland. (For he who held Tara held Ireland.) This occurred during the two Millennia in the ensuing BC period that lay ahead until the latter end of the 1st Century AD. It was not always amicable, as they had to spasmodically share the Gaelic Kingship of Tara / Erinn with their other Gaelic Milesian Heberian and Irian aristocratic Families descended from his two brothers, *37.Heber "Fionn" and *37.Ir. All of the Gaelic warriors were to be chosen from the aristocratic Septs / Family Branches to do the fighting and in the long term this was to go against the survival of their original Gaelic genetic base in Ireland. By the 1st Century AD the Heremonian Septs / Family branches initially descended from *37.Heremon were to be descended through his descendant *59.Ugaine the Great who had been the 66th King of Tara / Ireland and then especially through 2 of his sons, *60.Leary / Laoghaire "Lorc" the 68th King of Tara / Erinn and *60.Coffey / Cobthach "Caol Breagh" - the Slender of Brega the 69th King of Tara / Ireland. *60.Leary / Laoghaire "Lorc" was to produce the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Septs - *60.Coffey / Cobhthach "Caol Breagh" the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Septs In 56 AD *77.Fiacha "Fionn Ola" / Flacad "Fionoud" - of the White Cows was the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh 104th King of Tara / Ireland who was married to Eithne the daughter of the Celtic King of Alba / Scottish Highlands. During *77.Fiacha's rule a revolt was to occur in Ireland that involved the combined forces of the Fir Bolg Septs along with all of the other disaffected peoples and splinter groups who were now under Gaelic Milesian rule in Ireland. *77. Fiacha "Fionn Ola" was to be slain along with many other Gaelic leaders while attending a celebration / Feis given in their honour and the Country soon come under erratic control, which was to last for many years and created great turmoil throughout Ireland. Despite this within 50 years the Gaelic leadership would once again be revived after many battles under the leadership of *77.Fiacha "Fionn Ola's" son, *78.Toole / Tuathal "Teachtmhar" whose mother had been pregnant with him at the time and had therefore taken him into exile with her. After all of these successes he became the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh 106th King of Tara / Ireland and the Gaelic warrior aristocratic Families were then to regain control once again as they were reinstated back into their previous Gaelic Kingships. This included the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire over - Kingship also in the Leinster Province, and in the small kingdom of Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster that was to be eventually jammed in between the Munster Province and Southern Leinster, which were both previously Fir Bolg strongholds. *78.Toole was to secure his own Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Sept's territory from portions of the regions surrounding the ancient fortress of Uisneach in what became the Midlands / Mide / Meath in what is now Northern Leinster. During the 2nd Century AD the more important Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Sept / Family branch descended from 60.Coffey / Cobhthach the 69th King of Tara / Erinn were to be then directly descended from a grandson of *78.Toole / Tuathal "Teachtmhar" the previous 106th King of Tara / Ireland, and he would be known as *80.Conn "Ceth Cathach"- of the Hundred Battles who was to become the 110th King of Tara / Ireland and the direct ancestor of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn (The People of *80.Conn.) Initially they would be basically constricted to their territory in the Midlands / Mide / Meath in what is now Northern Leinster, but as their numbers grew they would expand their territory base into the adjacent territory in the west across the River Shannon, which was previously known as Sreng's Fifth originally given over to Sreng the Fir Bolg Chieftain by the Tuatha de Danann after the Battle of Moytura. Eventually this western territory on the other side of the River Shannon would become known as Connacht (The Land of the People of *80.Conn) named for *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles. There was still quite a bit of territory there in the south of what became the Connacht Province that they still had to gain control over in the future. The Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn there in Connacht was then to also evolve into another individual Sept the Ui Maine descended from *86.Maine "Mor," a brother to *86.Eochy "Mugmedon" the future 124th King of Tara / Ireland and later also into the 3 Connachta Septs, the Ui Briuin, the Ui Fiachrach and the Ui Ailello there descended from *86.Eochy "Mugmedon" directly. Over the Centuries ahead they would continue to gain further territory in Connacht by either subjugating or absorbing the remaining Fir Bolg Septs there or even their own kinsmen. Other Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh and Ui Laoghaire Septs in the Midlands / Mide in Northern Leinster would also continue to spread from out of there to the south - east into Southern Leinster and to the north into Northern Leinster and the Ulster Province. The descendants of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh aristocratic warrior Septs / Family branches were to continue to expand their territories throughout what was then the 5 Provinces in Ireland with 3 individual Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Septs eventually also advancing to the north into the Ulster Province into the territory originally given over by *37.Heremon to the descendants of *37.Ir. By then these 3 particular Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Septs were known as (1) the Ui Conaire Muscraige Dal Riada (The People of 70.Riada) descended from *69.Conaire the 111th King of Tara / Ireland and *80.Saraid a daughter of *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles the 110th King of Tara / Ireland (2) the Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Collas decended from *80.Conn directly and (3) the Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill also descended from *80.Conn. Despite their combined expansions there, up until the 9th Century AD the Heremonians were never able to completely gain control over the two Septs of the Ulaid who were situated there in the east of the Ulster Province in what became the kingdom of Ulidia. (from whom Ulster (The Land of the Ulaid) received its name.) The aristocratic warrior Dal Fiatach had been based originally on the Fir Bolg there, and the aristocratic warrior Irian Dal nAraide had been based on the Cruthin Picts, which also took in their Irian Ui Echach Cobo sub - Sept there. The Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Septs would especially well and truly spread out in to the Midlands / Mide / Meath in what is now Northern Leinster region wherein Tara is situated as, "He who held Tara held Ireland" as the new surge under *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles, who would become the King of Conn's Half / Leath Cuinn in the central - north of Ireland before finally gaining total Kingship of Tara / Ireland. He was to also gain control over the Heberian southern territory controlled then by the descendants of *37.Heber "Fionn," then under *83.Mogha "Nuadhat" in Mogha's Half / Leath Mogha in Southern Leinster in his own right in the south - east in and join it to the Midland / Mide Meath region in Northern Leinster creating what is now the whole of the Leinster Province. This was then to reduce the 5 previous ancient Provinces to 4 - Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster. *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles became the direct ancestor of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Septs / Family branches as his descendants were to gain further territory after *84.Eochy / Echu "Doimhlen" took over further territory in the east of the Connacht Province where later still there *86.Maine "Mor" expanded it and founded the Dal Cuinn Ui Maine kingdom in the north - east. Another Sept also evolved directly from *84.Eochy / Echu "Doimhlen" himself when his 3 sons were to go further to the north eventually creating the Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kingdom of Orghialla / Airghialla / Oriel in Southern Ulster and nearby Co. Louth in Northern Leinster gaining it from the Ulaid Septs there. One of his sons,*85.Carroll / Carioll "Colla Uais" had previously become the 121st King of Tara / Ireland, but had been dethroned and he became the direct ancestor of the Colla Uais Sept, another of these sons,*85.Mean "Colla Mend" was to be killed during their expedition and he became the direct ancestor of the Mugdorna Sept, while the other *85.Murray / Muiredach "Colla da Crioch" / "Fro Crith" - of the Two Countries is the direct ancestor of the Airthir Septs and the Ui Cremthainn Septs there. In the 5th Century AD another of *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles' descendants, *87.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland through 5 of his own 8 sons became the direct ancestor of the Dal Cuinn "Southern" Ui Niaill who had their territories mostly in Northern Leinster. His other 3 sons were to be the direct ancestors of the Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill who were also in the west of the Ulster Province. Under the leadership of these 3 sons, *88.Eogan, *88.Conall "Gulban" and *87.Enda their "Northern" Ui Niaill descendants were to eventually secure the whole of the Ulster Province much later on especially the Cenel nEogain Sept descended from *88.Eogan who were to also take in the eastern territory of the Ulaid and that of their own Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kinsmen in the south there. Other Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Septs also descended directly from *37.Heremon through his descendants, *59.Ugaine "Mor" - The Great," the 66th King of Tara / Ireland and his other son, *60.Leary / Laoghaire "Lorc" the 68th King of Tara / Erinn would subject the various Fir Bolg Laigin Celts in Southern Leinster and rule there as Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Lughaidh Cu Corb Kings descending originally from 78.Lewy / Lughaidh. They would also take over the territory there of previous Fir Bolg kingdom in the south - west , which would become the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla kingdom of of Ossory there on the eastern border of the Munster Province descending from *78.Lewy's brother, *78.Connla. All of this territory in Southern Leinster before the end of the 2nd Century AD, in relation to the Gaels, had been previously under the control of the Heberian descendants of *37.Heber "Fionn," the brother to *37.Heremon. Prior to *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles gaining complete control also in Southern Leinster, it was then in Mogha's Half under subjection to the Heberian King, 83.Mogha "Nuadhat" who *80.Conn of the Hundred Battles was to kill during a conflict over the port of Dublin in Southern Leinster. Other Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Septs who were also descended from *37.Heremon, *59.Ugaine "Mor" the 66th King of Tara / Ireland, *60.Coffey / Cobthach the 69th King of Tara / Ireland and *69.Conaire 11 the 111th King of Tara / Ireland through *70.Eochy / Eochaidh / 70.Cairbre "Riada," were also to control the kingdom of Dal Riada / riata in Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province after securing the territory there from the Scythian Cruthin Picts. They were to also then expand this particular kingdom into Argyle (The Land of the Gael) later to be known as Albany in the Scottish Highlands after the term Scottii / Irishmen (The People of Scotia.) His son, *71.Erc was to initially set up the kingdom of Dal Riada in the north of Co. Antrim, after they had left their Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Conaire Muscraige territory in the south of Ireland due to a severe Drought to seek greener pastures in the far - north of Ulster. Later in the early 6th Century AD it was to be then extended back into territory over in Alba / Scottish Highlands, which they had gained earlier on when they went to the north originally but had been driven out of there by the Scythian Cruthin Gaelic Picts / Caledonians. They were to reclaim it back again under *71.Erc’s 3 three sons, *72.Fergus, *72.Loarn and *72.Angus and it later became known as Argyle (The Land of the Gael) and Albany from Alba. Another 2 two of *69.Conaire's 3 sons, was *70.Cairbre "Musc" the direct ancestor of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Conaire Muscraige Septs in the Munster Province and *70.Cairbre "Baschaoin" the direct ancestor of the Muscraige Earna Septs in the Munster Province. +On to Heberians, Heremonians, Irians and Ithians
