                                                                                     HORSES - 13

                                                                        Natural Hair Conditioner

*Mix 4 x Egg Yolks, 40ml cold pressed Vegetable Oil, (Coconut, Olive or Jojoba) 20ml Apple Cider Vinegar, 20ml Honey, 20ml Lecithin. Shampoo first, and spread the Conditioner throughout the Hair and leave for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly.

                                                                          Supplementary Feeding

Spring: One Feed daily, 3/4 Chaff and Bran, 1/4 Grain, as the Pasture begins to die this should be increased to 2 x Feeds a day - 3/4 Chaff and Bran, 1/4 Grain.

Soak Barley with Sunflowers if the Weather is Cold. This Liquid can also incorporate some of the water - soluble Minerals and Apple Cider Vinegar and be used to dampen down the Feed to settle the dust in the Feed.

Winter: Plus Hay (Horses can tolerate very cold weather as long as they are not hungry.) Keeping warm requires extra feed and if there is a sudden cold spell the ration must be increased.

*Ponies and Crossbreds: Need a fraction of the amounts needed by the larger Breeds but they still require Dolomite x 1 Tablespoon daily, and 2 x Tablespoons of Seaweed Meal per week.

                                                                              Minerals and Vitamins

*Chemical degradation of the soils due to the widespread use of water soluble fertilizers such as chemical Herbicides, Pesticides and Phosphate has depleted many Minerals from the feed chain creating the need for Mineral Supplements. Antibiotics, Hormones, Preservatives, Salt, Stabilizers and synthetically manufactured Minerals and Vitamins in processed feeds lack nutritional value.

*Minerals in their Natural form in raw food are easily Metabolized by the Body as in Nature they are in balance with the other Acids, Enzymes, Minerals, Vitamins, etc. Natural excesses are easily excreted but their synthetic counterparts hold in the Tissues causing health problems.

*All Hay and Grain should be grown on the property by the owner Organically and healthy Horses will result. Artificial Fertilizers will inhibit the uptake of Calcium, Magnesium, Copper, Selenium and other necessary Trace Minerals as well as part of the Vitamins.

                                                                                       Stud Horses

1 x Tablespoon of Dolomite per Feed and 1 x Tablespoon of Seaweed Meal = Calcium / Magnesium / Minerals. It can also be left in an open Shed out of the Weather to be ingested as required, which is the best method by mixing the Dolomite and Seaweed Meal thoroughly together, and place in a container where it will stay dry. 1 x Tablespoon of Sulphur daily also will assist to absorb the Feed, and prevents Lice and EIA Infestations.

100 - 200ml of diluted Apple Cider Vinegar daily is particularly important in the last months of Pregnancy ensuring easy Births. (Important also for both Mares and Stallions.) 1 x Tablespoon of Cod Liver Oil a week. Foals born to Mares deficient in these Vitamins may be born with Contracted Tendons or be short of Vitamin A.

                                                                                      +On to Horses - 14.
