QUINCE / Cydonia oblonga. Europe. Cultivation: An ornamental tree of moderate growth with the Seeds used. Used in Balms & Lotions for its soothing & whitening qualities. Used to Treat: Dysentery: Hair - Setting Lotion: take 50gm of the Seed and boil in 275ml of water for 15 minutes and make up the quantity of liquid as it evaporates and strain the mixture and press through muslin squeezing out as much Mucilage as possible. The liquid will tend to jelly and set when cold and apply either hot or warm to suite.
