SHOCK:
Lie the
patient down, raise the Feet
and loosen the clothing. Dose
immediately with Rescue Remedy
and give a 2nd dose 15 minutes later and a 3rd Dose
30 minutes later. Treat up to 5 times daily for 24 hours or longer at 2 to 3
times a day - see Rescue Remedy under Bach
Flower Essences.
Herbs:
ingest Oats
& Valerian. Essential Oils
- 2 drops of Geranium, 1 drop of Lavender,
& 3 drops of Lemon in 1 Dessertspoon of Vegetable
Oil.
SIDEBONES - Horses: A bony protrubance can be felt on both sides of the Pastern. The Shoes are too high in the Heel reducing the elasticity of the Foot. Causes Intermittent Lameness especially on hard ground. Trotters and heavy Horses seem to be most prone. Not serious if not worked hard. Treatment: Include Cod Liver Oil, Dolomite & Seaweed Meal in the diet. SINUSITIS -
Symptoms:
Develops following a Cold or Hay Fever or may be
associated with a Dental Infection
as Nasal Congestion and
sometimes, severe pain across the Nose
& Cheeks and often a Headache as well.
Can cause Depression, mild Fever, Headaches, Pain and
a stuffy Nose.
Cause:
Only a small fraction of
Colds progress to Sinusitis
but in those susceptible it can turn into a Sinus Infection
beginning as Inflammation and progressing
into an Infection of the air filled Bony
Cavities surrounding the Nasal Passages. Reduce
Mucus foods such as Dairy
products, Starches
& Sugars. Replace
with raw Fruit &
Vegetables. Apply a Cabbage
Compress to the Face. Place
Hands & Wrists in hot
water until relief is obtained. Epsom
Salt Lozenges assists to rid the System
of Catarrh. Take red
- hot Cold & Flu drink. Use Swedish
Bitters as a Compress on the Face and Phytolacca
Ointment rubbed
into the Sinus areas on either side of
the Nose. If it is a Sinus
Head Ache rub
the Phytolacca Ointment
on it and any swollen Glands.
Herbs:
Comforting Tea, Echinacea: is an Immune
Stimulant that speeds healing
of Bacterial, Fungal & Viral, infections and
is natural Anti - Toxin. Tea:
drink a Tea with Eucalyptus.(see
N.B: below.) Elder Flower: used
with Echinacea, Garlic & Horseradish. Eucalyptus
Oil: can be diluted and rubbed on
the Forehead & Temples to relieve
Sinusitis. Mix a few drops into a couple
of Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil before applying
to the Skin. Add a few drops to the Bath water
or use the bruised Leaves
or mash and moisten
with water and make into a Poultice and place on the Chest
or stuff them in the Nostrils. (N.B:
Not too far.) N.B: Use sparingly as too much can be overwhelmingly
caustic and never ingest as a small amount
can be Toxic. Fenugreek:
Garlic
& Onion: are broad - spectrum Anti - Biotics, to
dry up infection as both are used to treat Infections
including Sinusitis. Can be taken as Capsules or
peel and chop whole Garlic
Cloves and digest as food along with Onions
& Horseradish, Hot Pepper & Ginger. Ginkgo Extract:
used for Aged infirmities particularly Stroke
because it increases Blood flow in and around
the Brain but it also has Respiratory
benefits and is used for Sinusitis. Buy
50:1 Extract and follow package directions or you can try 60 - 240mg a day. N.B:
Do not go any higher as it may cause Diarrhoea,
Irritability & Restlessness. Goldenseal:
is a broad spectrum Anti - Biotic with
at least 2 active constituents, Berberine &
Hydrastine used for acute Bacterial
Infection. Combine with Echinacea. Horseradish:
used to clear Sinusitis as it is very hot and if
brave enough you can try a spoonful of ground Horseradish
or add to a Sinus Soup. It forms Mustard
Oil in the Body giving off a Mustard
Gas to clear the Sinuses. Oregano:
a Mint Family member loaded with anti
- Septic compounds useful as a hot Tea
and inhale the vapours as you drink or use in a
massage Lotion or add a few drops of the Essential
Oil to any Skin Lotion or to Vegetable
Oil.
Peppermint:
or any Mint including Spearmint,
Mountain Mint & Oregano as all contain anti
- Septic Essential Oils
can be used to place in the Nostrils to
deliver the anti - Septic Oil
to infected Sinuses. Drink
a Tea made with any of the
Mints. N.B:
Do not use Mountain
Mint, if Pregnant.
Pineapple: contains Bromelain
useful for treating Sinusitis. Take a Goldenseal
Capsule and drink Pineapple Juice straight
after. Soothing Tea:
Thyme: Tonic Tea: Vitamin A:
strengthens the Mucous Membranes in the
Nose & Throat as the anti
- Inflammatory properties of the Essential
Fatty Acids found in Cod Liver Oil give relief
from Inflammation & Pain. Sinus
Snuff: 1 teaspoon of Salt, 1
teaspoon of Soda to 500ml boiling
water - Cool and add 1 Tablespoon of Witch
Hazel. Dosage: 4 - 5 times a day up the Nose
and expel through the Mouth.
Inhalation: of 1 cup of Peppermint,
1/2 Cup of Sage and 1/4 Cup of Thyme
or less if fresh in 1 Litre of boiling
water or use a few drops of the same Oils.
Drape a towel over the Head
and inhale for 10 - 15 minutes. Formula:

375mg twice a day. Elder Flower: 1250mg twice a

A Blood Cleanser.
Coriander: to bleach
and soften with the pounded Seeds mixed
with Goat's Milk or with the Leaves used in an Ointment.
Cucumber: used to soothe
Burns & Dermatitis
and for treating Wrinkles. Peel
and blend some Cucumbers in a Blender with or
without Avocado and apply the Puree
directly to the affected area and leave on for 15
- 60 minutes. Dandelion: can neutralise
Eczema. Dill: as
a Tonic due to it being rich in Minerals
especially Potassium
& Sulphur. English Plantain Leaves:
used Externally to soothe and cool minor Skin
Conditions as they contain Aucubin
& Catapol, which have both anti -
Inflammatory & Bactericidal properties. Evening
Primrose Oil - EPO: is rich in Gamma -
Linolenic Acid / GLA - used to treat Eczema and
other forms of Skin Irritation
such as Dermatitis. The easiest way to
take this herb is in Capsule form orally and follow the package directions. Borage,
Currant & Hops Oils are also well
endowed with GLA and can be obtained also in
Capsule form but follow package directions when taking. Figwort:
as a Poultice to cleanse and heal. Fumitory:
used as an Infusion. Golden
Seal: make a Decoction using 5 - 7 teaspoons of dried
Golden Seal to a cup of water and boil
and simmer for 20 minutes until cool, strain out the plant material and
apply to the affected area 1 - 3 times a day with a cotton ball or clean cloth. Gotu
Kola: stimulates
the regeneration of Skin
Cells and underlying connective Tissue and
is used to treat Eczema, Wounds and other Skin Conditions
as it contains Asiaticoside that is used to
treat Leprosy. You can use crushed
Leaves, if available, to make a Poultice and apply to the affected
area, if not buy a Tincture and follow package instructions. Ivy
Leaves: contains Saponins active
against several Bacteria & Fungi that cause Skin
Conditions and it is also used to treat Bronchitis
& Dermatitis. Chop up some Leaves and
put in a Blender and apply as a Paste directly to the affected
area. Marsh Mallow: contains the soothing
water - soluble Fibre, Mucilage,
used for relieving Skin
Conditions and is used in Ointments
for treating Chapped Skin. Juice the fresh Root
and apply the liquid directly to the affected
area. Myrrh:
Nettle: rejuvenates as a Wash. Pineapple:
contains Alpha - Hydroxy Acids / AHA - or Fruit
Acids that peel off dead Skin
Cells by dissolving the substances that hold the dead
Skin together and is used to treat Acne,
Chapped Skin, Fine Lines, Wrinkles and other Skin
Conditions. These Fruit
Acids occur in many Fruits beside Pineapple
including, Apples, Gardenia, Grapes &
Tamarind and also occur in sour Milk.
Try rubbing the inner skin on damaged Skin.
Poke Root: The number one Glandular
- Endocrine System herb but
should only be used on Professional Prescription.
Purslane: generously endowed with Carotenoids
similar to Carrots. Put a handful of this herb
in a Blender with a Carrot and even some Pineapple
to create an invigorating Face mask
with healing properties and leave on for 20
minutes or more. Red Clover: can neutralise
Eczema. Sarsaparilla:
can neutralise Eczema.
Thyme: Externally as an anti
- Septic Lotion for Lesions. Walnut
Leaves: used to treat mild superficial Skin
Inflammations by steeping 2 teaspoons of crushed
Leaves in a cup of boiling
water and apply the Tea or add a handful of crushed
Walnut Leaves to Baths to treat Eczema
when cool. Wild
Pansy: Witch Hazel: contains Tannins
that are potent Astringents useful to
treat Skin Conditions
externally and increases the tone of the Blood
Vessels in the Skin, which enhances Blood
supply to damaged areas. Vitamin
A: can neutralise
Eczema. Vitamin E:
heals Bed Sores,
Burns, Scars & Ulcers. Zinc:
can neutralise Eczema.
Silica: may also be lacking in
the diet and usually shows up as Cracked Heels
and weak, soft Nails.
Body:
Evening Primrose Oil & Marshmallow can
improve the Skin as Marshmallow
cleanses and is very soothing
to the Skin and acts as an Anti
- Inflammatory for any Skin Conditions.
This is then followed by a Lotion, containing Evening
Primrose Oil applied over the whole Body
to soften, nourish & protect the Skin.
Cracked Hands
& Heels: are usually due to an
occupation such as washing or working in water and detergents,
that also dry the Skin
and result in cracking. Dry,
Flaky Skin: use Geranium
& Lavender. For Dry Skin
drink a glass of Carrot Juice daily and take 1
Tablespoon of Cold Pressed Flaxseed
/ Linseed Oil & Cod Liver Oil.
Chronic
Problems - Internally: Use Yellow Dock. Deficiency Signs: some
forms of Eczema, Fatigue, poor Hair
growth, loss of Hair and
poor Skin growth.
Dry Skin - requires constant lubrication to prevent flaking
and premature ageing - Use Carrot.
Or 1 Tablespoon of Cold Pressed Oil
in a bath daily such as 200ml of Castor / Turkey
Red Oil, 20ml of Rose Oil and 50ml of Avocado
Oil and mix well in a tightly lidded jar. Dry
- Scaly -Internally: Use Burdock
& Cleavers. Enlarged Pores:
use Juiced Lettuce Leaves a source of Vitamin
A, on the Chin & Nose. Externally:
Use Chickweed. Exfoliation:
is the natural shedding process and dead Skin
should be removed once a week by a Cinnamon
Scrub that gently removes it and open the Pores
to allow the Skin to breathe freely. It
combines Cinnamon & Oatmeal as cleansers
and Honey to sooth and heal
along with Soy Lecithin
& Lanolin as Emollients &
Moisturisers. Externally: Use Echinacea
or Wild Weed Ointments. Fading
Pimples - Spots: Use Calendula,
Ladies Bedstraw Cream & Lemon Juices. Face Mask: 1
Dessertspoon of pure Honey and the beaten yolk
of 1 Egg and spread on the Face
and leave for 15 minutes and then wash off with tepid
water.
