PAIN -
Is the Body's
signal that something is wrong so do not disregard
pain no matter how slight. 2
Types: “Acute” & “Chronic” - Acute
such as Head Ache
or Injury that comes on suddenly, subsides
with time and is usually alleviated with common pain relievers.
Chronic may begin as Acute
but lasts longer even months or years and can cause Depression.
Correct your living habits or it will
reappear in a more severe form. Look at Acupuncture,
Acupressure, Hypnotherapy & Massage if needed to assist.
Try a Cabbage Poultice. Use a Compress, Oil,
Ointment or Tea. Muscular:
use Eucalyptus Oil, Meadowsweet, Rosemary &
Wintergreen. Tension: use Valerian.
Alternatives are Exercise, Meditation &
Biofeedback. Herbs:
Clove Oil:
Apply directly to the painful Tooth.
Eucalyptus Oil:
Externally add the Oil to the pain
relieving Essential Oils of Lavender
& Peppermint as it contains Cineole
that speeds up absorption of the Aromatic
pain relievers through
the Skin. N.B:
Used for External use only
as if ingested can be Toxic.
Evening Primrose Oil: one of the
best sources of the Amino Acid, Trytophan used
to reduce pain and also increases
the ability to tolerate pain.
Take 1gm 4 x times a day to relieve pain
and the Nerve damage
of Diabetic Neuropathy that sometimes
develops in people with Diabetes. Use powdered Seeds
instead because it loses much of the Trytophan
in the Oil extraction process. Ginger:
also used as a pain reliever
at 2 - 4 teaspoons of powdered Ginger a
day or use externally as a hot Compress to relieve
Abdominal Cramps, Headache & Joint Stiffness
and add hot Pepper to
the Compress. Hypericum: contains Glycosides

Tannin & Volatile Oil and is used for the Nervous
System as Nature's pain
killer. Kava Kava: contains 2 pain
relieving chemicals, Dihydrokavain
& Dihydromethysticin, which have Analgesic effects
similar to Aspirin. When you chew the leaf
your Mouth goes numb as it is a Narcotic
but not addictive and could be used also to relieve
the painful symptoms of Canker Sores, Sore
Throat, Sore Gums and maybe Tooth Ache.
Lavender Oil: is used as a top
treatment for pain as some Essential
Oils reduce the flow of Nerve
Impulses including those that transmit pain and
in Lavender Oil they appear to be Linalool
& Linalyl Aldehyde. Mix a few drops in 1 x Tablespoon of Vegetable
Oil and massage into the painful
area. Mountain Mint: high in Pulegone
a chemical similar to Capsaicin that
also has pain relieving
effects. Make a Tea and use the spent Leaves
or fresh ones as a Poultice on painful
areas. N.B: Do
not use this herb if Pregnant.
Peppermint Oil:
contains Menthol, which has Anesthetic
effects. Used as a massage it has pain - relieving
effects but dilute it by adding a few drops to a couple of tablespoons of
any Vegetable Oil as pure Peppermint
can be irritating to the Skin.
N.B: Never ingest the
Oil as a small amount
can be Toxic. Red
Pepper: contains pain -
relieving Salicylates that are similar
to Salicin equivalent to Aspirin
and also Capsaicin that stimulates
the release of the Body's natural pain
- killers, Endorphins.
Capsaicin also works externally by interfering
with Substance P, a pain
transmitter in the Skin. N.B:
Test on a small area of Skin before using
on a large area to ensure sensitivity and if it
irritates do not use. Rosemary:
2 - 3 teaspoons of dried
Rosemary to a cup of pain
relieving Tea or
for a bath fill a cloth bag with 2 ounces of the herb and
toss it in the bath water to relax
and it may provide pain relief
also. Sunflower: is one of the
best sources of Phenylalanine a chemical
involved in pain control
by reducing pain
by inhibiting the breakdown of Enkephalins chemicals
involved in pain perception. Phenylalanine
is used in Acupuncture to make it more
effective in reducing pain.
Eat plenty of Sunflower Seeds and use the ground
Seeds in a Poultice on painful
areas. Turmeric:
contains Curcumin,
which has anti -
Inflammatory effects including relieving
Rheumatoid Arthritis and to do this takes
400mg a day or at least 1/3 of an ounce and these could be consumed in Gelatine
Capsules purchased from a Health store. Willow
Bark: contains Salicin and is an
effective pain reliever.

teaspoons of White Willow, which has a lower Salicin
concentration so use a low dose Tea and
work your way up to a dose to suite as the individual species vary in strength.

that are released into the Bloodstream including
Glucagon & Insulin, which are essential to
normal Carbohydrate metabolism
