                                                                                  911 AD - 920 AD

911 AD In Normandy the Scandinavian Viking Chief, Rollo, who received his name from his size, was appointed by the French King as the Patrician there actually becoming the 1st Duke of Normandy although the title did not commence until the 3rd Duke. (Rollo was to be the direct ancestor of the Anglo - Norman Kings of England who would Invade Ireland under Henry 11 in the 12th Century AD).

911 AD The Viking Danes also established a settlement at Drogheda in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster above Dublin.

912 AD 102.Murray / Muiredach the Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muiredaig Siol Cathail Dux of the Clann Cathail Sept, died, who was a son of 101.Mugron the previous 38a King of Connacht descended through 98.Cathal the 23rd King of Connacht, who was one of the 2 sons of 97.Murray / Muiredach "Muillethan" the 18th King of Connacht (Siol Muiredaig / Sil Murray Sept), a grandson of 95.Reilly / Ragallach mac Uatach the first Ui Briuin Ai King and the 12th King of Connacht. (This was to be the end of his male line to the Kingship).

913 AD The Septs in the Ulster Province attacked the Vikings at sea.

913 AD 104.Mael "Cluiche," died, who was one of the 4 sons of 103.Conor / Conchobar the previous Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai 38th King of Connacht / Ui Conchobair, whose other sons were 104.Aed O Connor the previous 39th King of Connacht, 104.Teague / Tadhg O Connor the previous 40th King of Connacht, and 104.Cathal O Connor the 41st King of Connacht who would be the one to continue on their male line. (This was to see the end of his particular male line from 95.Reilly / Ragallach (Ui Briuin Ai the12th King of Connacht the direct descendant of the Ui Briuin Ai Septs.

914 AD the second great wave of Viking raids began as a massive fleet arrived into Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province and their aggressive onslaught was to continue on this time for the next quarter of a century with their armies raiding further inland and Munster was now to take the brunt of their attacks, which was to only weaken the Heberian Eoghanacht Septs further there.

107.Dermot, the son of 106.Carroll / Cerball was still the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster.

915 AD More Viking ships arrived into Ireland.

916 AD 101.Flann "Sinna" the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Southern" Ui Niaill 164th King of Ireland, diedand Colman the Abbot of Clonmacnoise buried him in front of the unfinished Cathedral erecting the "Cross of the Scriptures" over his grave, facing what is now the ruined church in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster, and a 10' High Cross was erected at Clonmacnoise monastery in Co. Offaly in the mid - north - west of Southern Leinster to commemorate the memory of 101.Flann as the 164th King of Ireland.

100.Niall "Glun Dubh" - of the Black Knee became the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 165th King of Ireland, who was a son of 99.Aed "Finn Liath" the previous 163rd King of Ireland, and set up his residence at the fortress of the "Southern" Ui Niaill in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster. He was a direct descendant of 88.Eogain the 1st King of Aileach (Cenel nEogain)and 87.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland (Ui Niaill), but would only reign for 3 years until 919 AD.

917 AD At this time the Vikings began to increase their more permanent settlements and the Irish Septs seemed to be unable to stop their ongoing advance.

This year, 100.Niall of the Black Knee the "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 165th King of Ireland led both the "Northern" and "Southern" Ui Niaill Tuaths to assist the Heberian Eoghanacht Septs in the Munster Province against the constant attacks being carried out there now by the Vikings and he laid siege to their settlement at Waterford in Co. Waterford in the south - east of Munster, but by now the Viking Norse settlements had grown too numerous there in Munster. 110.Niall of the Black Knee also depended on the assistance of the other Heremonian Septs in Southern Leinster, but unfortunately 108.Augaire the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Lughaidh Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Muiredaig 35th King of Leinster was to be defeated in a battle against the Norse near St. Mullins in Co. Carlow where there was great slaughter. This allowed Sitric the Norse King to re - occupy Dublin and establish a new kingdom there and the Norsemen now also settled to the south into the Cork region in Co. Cork in Southern Munster.

108.Augaire the Ui Dunlainge Ui Muiredaig 35th King of Leinster, died, this year, whose father was 107.Ailill the previous 31st King of Leinster and his male line would later be carried forward by his son, 109.Toole / Tuathal who would become the future 39th King of Leinster. 109.Faelan became the new Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Lughaidh Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 36th King of Leinster, who was a son of 108.Murray / Muiredach the previous 33rd King of Leinster descended from 103.Dunchad the 15th King of Leinster (Ui Dunchada).

107.Maelmorda, one of the 3 sons of 106.Muirecan the previous Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Lughaidh Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain 29th King of Leinster, died this year, who was to be the only one who would carry their Ui Faelain male line forward through his 2 sons, 108.Broen the future 38th King of Leinster, and 108.Finn who would also be the one who would continue on their male line becoming the father of 109.Murrough / Murchad the future  41st King of Leinster.

919 AD 100.Niall of the Black Knee and his "Northern" Ui Niaill Kings came south again this time to take on Sitric the Danish King of Dublin full on and the Irish forces attacked the Vikings in the Battle of Dublin and 100.Niall the 165th King of Ireland was killed in the conflict at Island Bridge and the Ui Niaill were devastated with 103.Aed mac Eochocain the Dal Fiatach 37th King of Ulaid also among those killed while supporting 100.Niall “Glun Dubh.“ This defeat also brought about the O Flynn  Ui Flainn / Ui Lynn Sept ceasing their connection with the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kingdom of Orghialla / Airghialla in the Ulster Province when Mael "Craibe" mac Duibsinaig the last 3 Colla Ui Macc Uais King of Orghialla / Airghialla was also among those killed. (100.Niall of the Black Knee was to become the direct ancestor of all the "Northern" O Nialls / O Neills of Ulster and would be replaced by 102.Donough / Donnchad "Donn" as the new Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn  "Southern" Ui Niall Clann Cholmain 166th King of Ireland. He was a son of 100.Flann "Sinna" the previous 164th King of Ireland descended from 91.Colman "Mor" the 6th King of Meath (Clann Cholmain), one of the 3 sons of 90.Diarmait mac Carroll the 133rd King of Tara / Ireland descended from 88.Conall "Cremthainne" one of the 8 sons of 87.Niall of the Nine Hostages. With the death also of 103.Aed mac Eochocain his male line would continue on through his 3 sons, 104.Dubgall would become the Dal Fiatach 38th King of Ulaid, 104.Matudan would become the future 41st King of Ulaid and 104.Niall would become the 43rd King of Ulaid.

With this major Ui Niaill reversal the Vikings under Sitric in Dublin now grew stronger and were a renewed threat, as they were able to totally reoccupy Dublin on the River Liffey, in Southern Leinster until 1169 AD and this also meant that they now returned in force to Ireland.

920 AD A major battle occurred this year at Ath na nUrlaidhe (The Ford of the Sledgings) on the Co. Tipperary border in the north - east of the Munster Province, between the Irish Septs and the Viking Danes, (Urlingford in Co. Kilkenny in south - west of Southern Leinster received its name from this crossing).

920 AD Cormac mac Mothla who was the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Chernaig King of the Deisi Muman Sept was also the Abbot of Kilmolash / Cell Molaisse in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province and the Bishop / supervisor and Vice - Abbot of Secnap of Lismore there, and also the Chief Counsellor of the Munster Province. During this year he was killed by the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Felim Ui Fothaid Aiched Sept in Co. Tipperary in the Baronies of Iffa and Offa in the north - east of Munster, for at this time the Deisi Septs there were suffering severe attacks on their territory in Co. Waterford. He was directly descended from 91.Cas (Dal gCais) he King of Thomond and his son 92.Blood / Bloid (Ui Bloid) and his son, 93.Brendan / Breanainn "Bran" (Muinter Urthaile, Muinter Maol Domhnaigh, Muinter Chearnaigh), which were to later on produce the Families of the O Brennans of Thomond, the O Glinns / Glynns, the O Hurleys, the O Maglins, the O Maegans, the O Maloneys and the O Muldowneys / O Downeys.

Encouraged further by their recent great success over 100.Niall of the Black Knee the 165th Ui Niaill King of Ireland a new wave of Viking invaders arrived into Ireland to strengthen their hold on their settlements in Limerick in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west and Waterford in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the  Munster Province and Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster.
