876 AD 106.Carroll - Cerball the Heremonian Connla King of Ossory now allied with the Deisi Sept and defeated the Heberians in Munster Province.

877 AD The Vikings began returning to Ireland in earnest setting up their fortresses so that they could raid the monasteries and the cattle farms along the River Shannon with its entrance through the estuary between Co. Limerick & Co. Clare in north - west Munster.   

879 AD The Vikings attacked Armagh in the south - east of the Ulster Province again from their settlement at Carlingford in Ulster.

        99.Aedh "Finn Liath" - of the White Hair who had been the Northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 163rd King of Ireland for 16 years, died on 20th November this year, who had been a son of 98.Niall "Caille" the previous 161st King of Ireland, at Druim Inesclainn in the territory of the Northern Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill Sept.

 

     101.Flann "Sinna" the 29th Clann Cholmain King became the Southern Ui Niaill 164th King of Ireland, who was a son of 100.Malachy 1st - Mael Sechnaill the previous 162nd King of Ireland.

880 AD 106.Carroll - Cerball the Heremonian Connla King of Ossory captured Dublin in mid - east Leinster from the Vikings.

            Perrone - Perronna Scottorum, a noted Irish Centre founded by St. Fursa who had died in 650 A.D was destroyed by the Vikings.
