Kildare in Central Leinster were they had previously met before and defeated him. Kilkenny in south - west Leinster and 106.Carroll - Cerball mac Dungaile became the new Heremonian Connla King of Ossory, who was a son of 105.Dungal the previous King of Ossory. He was to marry his daughters to the Viking Chiefs, which allowed him to protect Southern Leinster and strengthen his position and that of the kingdom of Ossory and was to reign for 46 years until 888 AD.

Forindan and Diarmait the two previous Abbots of Armagh were now working together in Munster Province with the Law of Patrick and 100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster met with both of them.

843 AD The Gaelic Picts in the Highlands of Scotland now had no real leader and they had moved from the central region north taking in the other tribes so 95.Kenneth - Cinaed mac Ailpine - the Hardy the Gaelic King of Dal Riada fell on them and took their stronghold of Fortia in Perthshire. Due to his maternal connection to them he combined both Celtic Septs north of Cheviot Get, the Gaelic Picts and the Heremonian Gaelic Scottii, to become the direct ancestor of the future Kings of Scotland. The Orcades at this time were Celts who were on their own islands.

844 - 888 AD Carroll - Cerball, the Heremonian Connla King of Ossory in Co. Kilkenny in south - west Leinster had used diplomacy to keep control there by marrying his daughters off to the Viking Chiefs and then played one against the other and this allowed him to protect his territory in south - west Leinster, which also went along way to strengthen his own position in Southern Leinster.

844 AD The Vikings attacked the monastery at Clonfert in Co. Galway in south- west Connacht and Turgesius the Viking King who also had some of his fleet on Loch Ree in Connacht burned the monastery at Clonmacnoise in Co. Offaly in north - west Leinster while his wife, Ota defiled the altar there.

The first Murray - Muiredach who had been the Abbot of Monasterboice - Mainistir Bhuithin - St. Buithe's monastery in Co. Louth in north - east Leinster, died this year.

He was able to capture and kill Turgesius the Viking King by drowning him in Loch Nair as he carried out the War of the Irish with the Foreigners - Cogadh Gaedhel re Gallaibh. Turgesius had demanded the daughter of the King of Loch Owel between Derravagh and Mullingar and when she was to come to him she brought 50 warriors dressed as handmaidens to remove him from the scene. The demise of Turgesius was a great gain, as to what was occurring previously, with no real concerted effort to bring their attacks to a halt, and showed once again what the removal of one negative individual in a position of power can do to turn around the whole scene.

The Viking - Norsemen were to be attacked by the Irish and the Danes from the east during this Century and were to suffer a heavy defeat on  Carlingford Loch - Loch Cuan and although the Vikings were to have a minimal effect on the Irish Septs overall they were to effect the Irish language with some 50 words such as the introduction of Tir to change the name of Ulaid to Ulster, Laighin to Leinster and Mumhan to Munster.
