                                                                                      831 AD - 840 AD

831 AD 100.Felim the Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster took forces from both Munster Province and Leinster Province in Mogha's Half - Leth Mogha and attacked the "Southern" Ui Niaill Septs in Brega in the north - east of Northern Leinster reaching as far as Fennor - Finnabair - near Slane while raiding throughout the countryside.

The Vikings raided the Church at Maghera - Machaire - The Plain - in Co. Derry in the north - east of the Ulster Province and the region around Annagassan in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster and also began to settle in at Limerick in Co. Limerick in the south in mid - north - west of the Munster Province on the eastern side of the River Shannon in opposition to the Heberian Eoghanachta Septs there, where they also began to trade.

832 AD The Vikings raided the monastery at Clonmore - An Chluain Mhor - The Great Meadow in Co. Carlow in Southern Leinster.

100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster now also raided the territory of the "Southern" Ui Niaill Ui Fiachach Sept in Delbna Bethra in Meath in Northern Leinster three times and burnt the sanctuary - Termon at Clonmacnoise in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster, as both territories were in the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill territory of Leath Cuinn - Conn's Half.

99.Conor - Conchobar the "Southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 160th King of Ireland devastated the Liffey Plain in Co. Dublin in the central - east of Southern Leinster in Mogha's Half.

833 AD 99.Conor - Conchobar the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "Southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 160th King of Ireland, died peacefully, who was one of the 2 sons of 98.Donough - Donnchad the previous 158th King of Ireland descended from 91.Colman "Mor" the direct ancestor of the Clann Cholmain Sept.

98.Niall "Caille" the 23rd King of Ailech in Northern Ulster was to become the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 161st King of Ireland until the year 846 AD, who was a son of 97.Aed "Oirdnide" the previous 159th King of Ireland descended from 88.Eogan, one of the 8 sons of 87.Niall.

105.Kelly - Ceallach the Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Muiredaig 24th King of Leinster defeated the monastic community at Kildare in Co. Kildare in Central Leinster were he killed many of them during the battle.

100.Coffey - Cobthach who was the Heberian Eoghanacht Locha Lein King, died, who was one of the 2 sons of 99.Maele "Duin" the previous Chaisil 20a King of Munster and he was to be the last one from his particular male line but his brother, 100.Congal would be the father of 102.Olchobar the 24th King of Munster.

100.Felim the Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster raided the region of Delbna Bethra again in the south - west of Meath in Northern Leinster, the territory of the "Southern" Ui Niaill Ui Fiachach Sept, where he killed most of the monastic community and burnt everything except the church and then attacked Durrow in Co. Offaly, in the mid - west of Southern Leinster once again, also in the territory of the "Southern" Ui Niaill. It was a rival to Clonmacnoise there for the favour of the "Southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain Sept as it had aided a previous Ui Niaill High King against the Munster Province in 766 AD. The hostility that 100.Felim had towards Clonmacnoise, situated in the "Southern" Ui Niaill territory in Leath Cuinn - Conn's Half was unrelenting. The kingdom of Delbna Bethra - Fortuath, which was also subject to the "Southern" Ui Niaill Septs had its own King subject to Clonmacnoise, who also had possession of the monastery founded by St. Manchan at  Lemanaghan - Liath Manchain - St. Manachan's Grey Place. This was originally a Munster foundation that may have also controlled Gallen - Mainistir Ghailinne - in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster, which had been founded by St. Michonoge in 492 AD.  It was patronised by the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Maine Kings, the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Kings of Connacht and the "Southern" Ui Niaill Kings of Meath and had subject churches on both sides of the River Shannon and on Loch Ree, who all suffered from the Viking raids as well as from the raids by 100.Felim.

Eogan "Mainistrech" the Abbot of Armagh had died and was succeeded by Diarmait, the son of Tiernan - Tigernan.

101.Diarmait the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muiredaig 33rd King of Connacht, died, who was one of the 3 sons of 100.Tomaltach, who all were to be Kings of Connacht, who was a son of 99.Murgal, one of the 4 sons of 98.Indrechtach the previous 21st King of Connacht, one of the 2 sons of 97.Murray - Muiredach the 18th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Siol Muiredaig Sept in Connacht. This was to be the end also of his particular male line to the Kingship.

102.Cathal became the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Sil Muiredaig 34th King of Connacht, who was a son of 101.Muirgius the previous 31st King of Connacht, one of the 3 sons of 100.Tomaltach descended from 95.Reilly - Ragallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept.

834 AD 105.Kelly - Ceallach the Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Muiredaig 24th King of Leinster, died, who was one of the 2 sons of 104.Bran "Ardchenn" the previous 21st King of Leinster, the son of 103.Murray - Muiredach the 18th King of Leinster who is the direct ancestor of the Cu Corb Ui Muiredaig Sept. Although his son, 106.Lorcan would become the 27th King of Leinster his male line was to be carried on through his other son, 106.Murray - Muiredach who was to be the father of 106.Toole - Tuathal aka 106.Maele "Brigte" the future 28th King of Leinster.

98.Niall “Caille“ the "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain  161st King of Ireland went to Southern Leinster were he made 107.Bran the Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 25th King of Leinster, who was a son of 106.Faelan, the son of 105.Finsnechta "Cetharderc" the previous Cu Corb 22nd King of Leinster, a son of 104.Kelly - Ceallach the 19th King of Leinster, who was the son of 103.Dunchad the 15th King of Leinster the direct ancestor of the Ui Dunchada Sept.

835 AD Forindan who was now the Abbot of Armagh ion the Ulster Province had ousted Diarmait, the son of Tiernan - Tigernan, from his position but Diarmait was to continue to contest the position for the next 17 years with dispute coming shortly after the inauguration of 98.Niall "Caille" the "Northern" Ui Niaill  161st King of Ireland who had already asserted his authority in the Leinster Province. 98.Niall "Caille" also had to quell the opposition of his kinsmen the "Southern" Ui Niaill and he ravaged Meath in Northern Leinster as far as Tech Mael Chonoe, which was another monastery in the territory of the "Southern" Ui Niaill Ui Fiachach Sept in Delbna Bethra. It was during this campaign that the men of Munster Province killed one of his sub - kings, Fergus mac Bodbchada of Carraic Brachaide in Inishowen in Co. Derry in the north - east of Ulster.

100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster by now also had ambitions of becoming the High King of Tara himself and was politically selective as to who stood in his way and he was also now in a favourable position to bargain with those in control of Armagh and decided to take a hand in the dispute putting Diarmait back in as the Abbot of Armagh in the Ulster Province as he was sure he would be able to count on his support if he made a bid for the High Kingship of Ireland in the future.

100.Indrechtach from the Dal Fiatach sub - Sept of the Leth Cathail, died, in the north - east of the Ulster Province, who was a son of 99.Tomaltach, a son of 98.Cathal the direct ancestor of the Leth Cathail Sept, who was a son of 97.Murray - Muiredach, the son of 96.Angus - Oengus who was one of the 2 sons of 95.Mael "Cobo" the previous 13th King of Ulaid descended from 90.Forgg mac Dallain.

Olaf the White the Viking King began to settle in at Dublin - Dubh Linn - The Dark Pool - (originally also named for Dubh the wife of Enna, the son of Nois) with his Viking warriors in the Co. Dublin area also previously known in Irish as - The Place of the Hurdle of the Ford - Baile Atha Cliath, which was territory actually situated on the eastern side of mid - Southern Leinster on the River Liffey.

The Norwegians - Norsemen Vikings were not only settling into Ireland but also into the Faroe Islands, Scotland, Greenland, and Stone Land - Labrador and they also attacked the monastery at Tuamgraney in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province once again this year.

Godfrey, the son of Fergus, from the Heremonian Dal Cuinn 3 Colla Sept was now a Prince of Orghialla- Airghialla - Oriel in Southern Ulster.

836 AD The Vikings make their first inland attacks directly against the "Southern" Ui Niaill Septs in Co. Meath in the north - east of Northern Leinster.

Forindan and Diarmait the two rival candidates for the position of Abbot at Armagh the main religious seat in Ireland in the Ulster Province went on a circuit, with Forindan going to Southern Leinster, and Diarmait to the Connacht Province so 100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster then laid siege to Kildare in Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster where he captured Forindan who was visiting there and held him prisoner. 100.Felim also seized the Cork Abbey in Southern Munster taking the Abbot of Cork to the Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province were he died, and as 99.Dunlaing mac Cathussaig had earlier been the Abbot of Cork, 100.Felim took it upon himself to assume the position. Meanwhile Diarmait who was 100.Felim's preferred candidate carried with him with the Crozier of Jesus - Bachall Isa and the Bell of St. Patrick and proved himself successful in Connacht

837 AD Turgesius the Viking King arrived onto the coast of Co. Dublin in the central - east of Southern Leinster with his Northmen - Ostmen on 65 ships, while he also had other ships situated up on Loch Neagh, at Carlingford - Cuan Loch in the north - east of the Ulster Province with intentions of completely taking over Ireland. He also had others in the River Shannon and the River Boyne and began setting up a permanent settlement and as each ship contained one to two mounted horsemen they also began raiding inland in earnest killing the men from the individual Irish Septs and carrying off the Irish women.

Despite all of this Viking activity going on, 100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster continued to concentrate on ravaging the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Maine Sept in the south - east of the Connacht Province but this time he was defeated by 102.Cathal the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Ui Muiredaig 34th King of Connacht whose territory was further to the north in Connacht at Mag nAi. This may have been a retaliation for the previous killing of the Munster Province vice - Abbot of Clonmacnoise in Co. Offaly in the mid - west of the Leinster Province and the attack on the Cork Abbey by the monks of Clonfert Abbey in Co. Galway in the south - west of Connacht, as it was originally a Munster church of St. Brendan and the Cuimine Fota.

838 AD 100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Cashel - Munster now decided to seize the Clonfert Abbey 2 miles west of the River Shannon in Co. Galway in the south - west of the Connacht Province for himself and he also, once again, assumed the position of Abbot of Clonfert. He then had a meeting with 98.Niall "Caille" the "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 161st King of Ireland at Cloncurry - Cluain Conaire - Conaire's Meadow in Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster, just inside the border, where he submitted to him and 98.Niall "Caille" really became the High King of Ireland on that day. 100.Felim still did not attack the Vikings and in fact used them himself if the need arose while raiding the Meath region into the territory of the "Southern" Ui Niaill were he also took hostages from 102.Cathal the Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muiredaig 34th King of Connacht.

107.Bran the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge 25th King of Leinster also came up against 100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster, in Southern Leinster, and the Heremonian Ui Dunlainge Tuath was to be further weakened by the Viking settlement that was now occurring in the Dublin region. 107.Bran the Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 25th King of Leinster, died, who was the son of 106.Faelan, the son of 105.Finsnechta "Cetharderc" the previous Cu Corb 22nd King of Leinster. Of his 2 sons, 108.Murray - Muiredach would become the 33rd King of Leinster and his other son; 108.Rourke - Ruarc was to succeed his father as the Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada  26th King of Leinster.

Skellig Michael monastery in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province, was ravaged again by the Danish Vikings this year.

839 AD The Vikings carry out further attacks at Ferns in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster and at Cork in Co. Cork in Southern Munster.

The Scottii of the Heremonian Dal Riada Sept in the Highlands of Scotland were under the leadership of 95.Ailpin, who was descended from 88.Gabhran, and they finally rebelled against the Scythian Gaelic Picts, but both were then attacked by the Vikings and 95.Ailpin was  among those who were killed. The Picts then took on the Viking Norsemen on their own and they too were defeated and their leader, Eogan was also killed.  Eventually 96.Kenneth - Cinaed mac Ailpine, the son of 95.Ailpin, was to combine the Scythian Gaels & Scythian Gaelic Picts becoming the direct ancestor of the future Highland Kings of Scotland who continued to operate under the Celtic Gaelic Clann System. Up until Malcolm 1V “Ceann Mor“ married the Saxon Princess, St. Margaret all the land in the Highlands of Scotland was still owned by the Tuath - Family region - but from their time on under the Saxon - Norman influence the territorial system of the Septs was changed and the land then belonged to the Kings of Scotland instead who also then moved on down to the Lowlands, which was similar to the Anglo - Norman system in England.  It was also later introduced in Ireland by the English after the Anglo - Norman Invasion and destroyed the whole Family orientated system of the Celtic Septs.

839 AD Diarmait was once again installed as the Abbot of Armagh in the north - east of the Ulster Province.

101.Murray - Muiredach the Dal Fiatach 27th King of Ulaid, died, who was one of the 2 sons of 100.Eochy - Eochaidh the previous 24th King of Ulaid, one of the 2 sons of 99.Fiachnae the 22nd King of Ulaid descended from 91.Murray "Muinderg" the 1st King of Ulaid, one of the 2 sons of 90.Forgg mac Dallain who had their territory at Downpatrick - Dun Da Lethglaise in Co. Down in the south - east of the Ulster Province.

102.Matudan became the Dal Fiatach 28th King of Ulaid in the south - east of the Ulster Province, who was a son of 101.Murray - Muiredach the previous 27th King of Ulaid, one of the 2 sons of 100.Eochy - Eochaidh the 24th King of Ulaid descended from 90.Forgg mac Dallain.

102.Cathal the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Siol Muiredaig 34th King of Connacht, died, who was one of the 2 sons of 101.Muirgius the previous 31st King of Connacht, one of the 3 sons of 100.Tomaltach. This was the end of his particular male line to the Kingship as his brother 102.Teague - Tadhg "Mor " was to be the one to carry their line forward through his son, 103.Conor - Conchobar who would be the future 38th King of Connacht and the direct ancestor of the Ui Conchobair - O Connor Kings of Connacht.

101.Murrough - Murchad became the Ui Briuin Siol Muiredaig Siol Cathail 35th King of Connacht, who was a son of 100.Aed, whose father was 99.Fogartach, one of the 4 sons of 98.Cathal the previous 23rd King of Connacht and direct ancestor of the Ui Cathail Sept, one of the 2 sons of 97.Murray - Muiredach "Muillethan" the 18th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Siol Muiredaig - Sil Murray Sept, a son of 96.Fergus - aka 96.Muirgius one of the 3 sons of 96.Reilly - Ragallach the 12th King of Connacht and direct ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai.

By this period in Irish History there were large Viking fleets in the inland lakes including Loch Neagh in the east of the Ulster Province who were now carrying out more raids further in to the hinterland.

840 AD The Vikings wintered on the lakes and began to set up permanent settlements known as Long Phorts - defensive areas - from now, along the east - coast especially in Dublin in Co. Dublin in the mid - east of Southern Leinster. There were also Norse towns by now in Limerick in the mid - north - west of the Munster Province and Waterford in the south - east of Munster, Wexford and Wicklow in the south - east of Southern Leinster and from these settlements they were able to carry out raids, once again, further inland plundering the larger monasteries, always after the gold and silver.

Meanwhile 100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster continued to ravage the "Southern" Ui Niaill territories in Meath & Brega in the north - east of Northern Leinster and stayed over there at Tara publicly displaying his pretensions to the High Kingship of Ireland and then returned and also devastated the "Southern" Ui Niaill Ui Fiachrach territory of Delbna Bethra once again in the south - west of Northern Leinster. There to be found were most of the lands under the control of the Fir Chell - Men of the Churches - from the great monasteries such as Durrow - Dairmha - Oak Plains - in Co. Offaly founded originally by 91.St.Columbcille - Columba, Rahan - Raithean - Place of Ferns - Co. Offaly founded by St. Carthach in the 6th Century AD, and Lynally.

100.Felim the Eoghanacht Chaisil 23rd King of Munster feeling his shares were now on the way up besieged all of the territory of the "Southern" Ui Niaill from Birr on the Co. Offaly - Munster border right up to Tara in Meath in the north - east of the Leinster Province once again even going as far as seizing 98.Niall "Caille's" Queen, 99.Gormlaith, the daughter of 98.Donough - Donnchad the previous "Southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland.

101.Murrough - Murchad the Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muiredaig Sil Cathail 35th King of Connacht, died this year, who was a son of 100.Aed, whose father was 99.Fogartach, a son of 98.Cathal the previous 23rd King of Connacht. (100.Aed had been a brother to 100.Mael "Cothaid" the 32nd King of Connacht.) This ended his particular male line also descending from 95.Reilly - Ragallach the Ui Briuin Ai 12th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Septs.

841 AD Turgesius the Viking King with his massive fleet of ships completely takes over Dublin on the mid - east coast of Southern Leinster and also erected a long fort at Linn Duachaill near Annagassan in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster.

Dungal, the son of Fergal - Fearghal, the Heremonian Connla King of Ossory, died this year.
