772 AD The Law of St. Comman and Aedan was proclaimed in the Connacht Province.

773AD 96.Donn "Cothaid" the Northern Ui Fiachrach Muaide 28th King of Connacht, died, who was a son of 95.Cathal, the son of 94.Ailill one of the 3 sons of 93.Dunchad "Muirisci" the previous 16th King of Connacht descended from 89.Fiachnae, one of the 3 sons of 88.Nathi the 127th King of Tara - Ireland, one of the 3 sons of 87.Fiachra the direct ancestor of the Ui Fiachrach Septs who had been a brother to 88.Brion, 88.Ailill, and a half - brother to 87.Niall of the Nine Hostages. 96.Donn "Cothaid" was to be the last of the Ui Fiachrach Kings of Connacht and the Ui Briuin Septs from now on were to reign unchallenged in Connacht but they too were to soon be divided clearly into their own distinct Septs, which would ensure greater rivalry among them now also for the position of Provincial King.

774 AD 100.Tumelty - Tomaltach the Ui Briuin Ai Sil Muiredaig King, died, who was a son of 99.Murgal, one of the 4 sons of 98.Indrechtach the previous 21st King of Connacht who was one of the 2 sons of 98.Murray - Muiredach "Muillethan" the direct ancestor of the Siol Muiredaig - Sil Murray Sept & Siol Cathail Sept. 100.Tommaltach had produced 3 sons who would become Kings of Connacht, 101.Muirgius the 31st who would make the Ui Briuin in Connacht a power to be reckoned with, 101.Diarmait would become the 33rd and 101.Finsnechta the 37th.  

775 AD 98.Donough - Donnchad the Southern Ui Niall Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland launched a campaign against Munster, to express his Ui Niaill authority over the Heberians and Southern Leinster, causing great devastation there as he defeated them and was to also do the same the next year.

     The Cele de - aka Culdees - vassals of God - who were a religious reforming order of monks had their main house at Tallaght near Dublin in Co. Dublin in mid - east Leinster under St. Mael of Ruain, and the region there was to suffer greatly later on during the Viking raids.

      As the pressure was further increased from the north in Connacht the Ui Maine Sept where routed by the Ui Briuin Septs at Athleague - Ath Liag - The Ford of the Standing Stones - on the River Suck near the Co. Galway border and the Law of Kieran - Ciaran was proclaimed in the Connacht Province.

776 AD The northern Sept who had settled into Eilne between Bann and Bush in north - east Ulster Province, encroaching on the territory of the Dal Riada Sept, were defeated by the Magh Line Sept who were their kinsmen and as an individual Sept they where to disappear after the 9th Century AD. The territory of the 3 Colla Ui Thuirtri had been absorbed into the Northern Ui Niall Cenel nEogain region of Ailech and they now moved east across the Bann and remained allies in the territory of the Dal nAraidi Sept and in the 10th Century AD the Dal nAraidi Sept were to take over the Eilne lands. The O Lynns or O Flynns - Ui Fhloinn held territory west of the Bann in the territory of the Cenel n Eogain Septs centred on a fort on Loch Neagh and Loch Beg in Co. Antrim in north - east Ulster.

     98.Donough - Donnchad the Southern Ui Niall Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland lost several of his brothers during his second campaign in Munster but there was no Munster Kings involved in the battle on this occasion and he had also included forces from the Durrow - Dairmha monastery in Co. Offaly in mid - western Leinster in his army and had also gone up against the monastic community at Clonard - Cluain Ioraird in Meath in north - east Leinster.

     104.Kelly - Ceallach the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 19th King of Leinster, died, whose father was 103.Dunchad the previous 15th King of Leinster who is the direct ancestor of the Ui Dunchada Sept, one of the 4 sons of 102.Murrough - Murchad the 14th King of Leinster. His male line would be continued on in the Kingship by his son, 105.Finsnechta "Cetharderc" who would become the 22nd King of Leinster.

    104.Rory - Ruaidri became the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain 20th King of Leinster, who was a son of 103.Faelan the previous 16th King of Leinster and the direct ancestor of the Ui Faelain Sept who was one of the 4 sons of 102.Murrough - Murchad the 14th King of Leinster.

777 AD 98.Flaithri the Ui Briuin Ai 29th King of Connacht, abdicated, who was a son of 97.Donnell - Domnall the previous 22nd King of Connacht, who was one of the 2 sons of 96.Kelly - Ceallach the previous 19th King of Connacht, one of the 3 sons of 95.Reilly - Ragallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept.

     99.Artgal became the Ui Briuin Ai Sil Muiredaig Sil Cathail 30th King of Connacht, who was one of the 4 sons of 98.Cathal the previous 23rd King of Connacht who was the direct ancestor of the Sil Cathail Sept and one of the 2 son of 97.Murray - Muiredach the 18th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Sil Muiredaig - Sil Murray Sept, who was another of the 3 sons of 95.Reilly - Ragallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept.

 778 AD 96.Niall "Frossach" - of the Showers the previous Northern Ui Niall Cenel nEogain 157th King of Ireland, who had abdicated in 770 AD was to die this year while on a pilgrimage to the Holy island of Iona of 91.St. Columbcille. He was one of the 2 sons of 95.Fergal mac Maele Duin the previous 149th King of Ireland descended from 88.Eogain one of the 8 sons of 87.Niall of the Nine Hostages the direct ancestor of all the Ui Niaill Septs.

     99.Artgal the Ui Briuin Ai Sil Muiredaig Sil Cathail 30th King of Connacht defeated the Ui Maine Sept again in Connacht Province.

     97.Congalach the Southern Ui Niall Sil nAedo Slaine 19th King of Brega, died, who was son of 96.Conaing the previous 16th King of Brega who was descended from 94.Congalach the 10th King of Brega, who was one of the 2 sons of 93.Conaing "Cuirrc" the 6th King of Brega, a son of 92.Congal the 3rd King of Brega, one of the 5 sons of 91.Aed "Slaine" the 139th King of Ireland.  His male line was to continue on through his son, 98.Kelly - Ceallach until the advent of 101.Congalach "Cnogba" - of Knowth who 228 years later on would for a short time finally revive the fortunes of the Sil nAedo Slaine Sept as the 33rd King of Brega and the 167th King of Ireland. 

      93.Aed "Fionn" - of Fair Complexion the King of Argyll in the Highlands of Scotland, died, who was a descendent of 90.Eochy - Eochaidh the previous King of Dal Riada in 726 AD and his son another 94.Eochy - Eochaidh was also to be the King of Argyll in Scotland who was to marry the sister of Unuist the King of the Gaelic Picts. In 841 AD she was to produce their son, 95.Ailpin who was also to be the King of Argyll who was able therefore to lay claim through the female line to the Gaelic Pictish throne thereby enabling his son, 96.Kenneth - Cainnech mac Ailpine to become the 1st King of the Celtic Gaelic Picts and the Celtic Gaelic Scots - Scottii in the Scottish Highlands.

779 AD 98.Flaithri the previous Ui Briuin Ai 29th King of Connacht, who had abdicated in 777 AD, died, who was a son of 97.Donnell - Domnall the previous 22nd King of Connacht, one of the 2 sons of 96.Kelly - Ceallach the 19th King of Connacht, one of the 3 sons of 95.Reilly - Ragallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept. This was to be the end of his particular male line to the Kingship.

      99.Fergal the Eoghanacht Raithlind King - Ri of South Muman - Des Muman, died, who was a son of 98.Eladach, a son of 97.Selbach, a son of 96.Clarenach, the son of 95.Coirpre "Riastrain" whose father was 94.Aed "Osraige," one of the 2 sons of 93.Loegaire the direct ancestor of the Ui Laegairi Sept who was one of the 2 sons of 92.Criffan - Crimthann, whose other son, 93.Aed "Ualgarb" is the direct ancestor of the Cenel nAeda Sept.  92.Crimthann was a son of 91.Eochy - Echu the direct ancestor of the Ui Echach Muman Sept who was a son of 90.Mac Cass another of the 7 sons of 89. Conall "Corc" the Chaisil 1st King of Cashel - Munster.  99.Fergal's male line was to eventually produce 104.Dub "Da Bairenn" the future 36th King of Munster.  

780 AD The Council of Chalon condemned the harsh Penitentials carried out by the Irish monks.

       The Law of St. Comman & Aedan was proclaimed once again in the Connacht Province.

       98.Donough - Donnchad the Southern Ui Niall Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland once again invaded Leinster to express his Ui Niaill authority in Mogha's Half attacking 104.Rory - Ruaidri the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain 20th King of Leinster and Laidcenn the Cu Corb Ui Cheinnselaig King at Kilcock - Cill Choca - St. Coca's Church - in Co. Kildare in Central Leinster and many churches there were burnt during the raids.  

780 AD The Heberian Eoghanachta Septs continued to share the Kingship of Munster between their own Septs while the Heberian In Deis Tuaiscirt - Dal gCais Septs established greater influence over Co. Limerick & Co. Tipperary in Northern Munster - Thomond.
