Dun Alinne was the Royal seat for Southern Leinster, Cashel - Caiseal was the Royal site in Munster. The main tribes still at this time were the Dal Riada in Co. Antrim - North East Ulster, the Cruthin further down with the centre of Ulaid near Armagh - Eamhain Macha. The Crioch Rois were near Dundalk in Co. The Osraige were in South Western Leinster above, Cashel, with the Corca Baiscinn in the west of Co. Clare then still part of Southern Connacht and the Uaithne in North Munster near the River Shannon. The Feorain Flann were in Co. Limerick in North West Munster and the Eoghanachta at Cashel in Co. Tipperary in Northern Munster and the Brigantes north of the Fotharta in the east in Co. Wexford in South East Leinster. The Deisi were in Co. Waterford and Obraigne in the centre of Munster in Co.
