2659 BC - 2133 BC 2659 BC saw the first influx of the race of people into Ireland known then as the Scythians descended through *10.Noah from his son, *11.Japheth and his son, *12.Magog. This was to occur well after the Great Deluge involving *10.Noah and his 3 sons had transpired. 1,000 Scythians descended from *12.Magog were to arrive in Ireland into the region now known as Co. Kerry - South West Munster. They had previously set out from Macedonia in Greece under the leadership of their Prince, Partholon a descendant of *12.Magog. Among them where his 3 sons, Slainge, Laighlinne & Rudhraidhe - Rory and their wives, Dealgnat, Nerbha, Ciochbha & Cerbnad. They are now known generically as the "Partholonians." The Partholonians soon found that they were to constantly come under attack from another distinct race of people who were also descended from *10.Noah. These were the "Fomoiri" who had arrived earlier on but did not settle on the mainland but had their base in the Atlantic Ocean to the north of Co. Donegal - North West Ulster on Tory Island. Known now generically also as the "Fomorians" they were Sea Pirates from the African coast and they claimed descent from 11.Ham one of the other sons of *10.Noah. He was a brother to 11.Shem the ancestor of the "Semites" and also to *11.Japheth the ancestor of the Scythian Celts through his grandson, *12.Magog. Due to their occupation and position the Fomorians were never to be in any great numbers but they were to persist to occupy the fortress on Tory Island. They where tall in stature and very destructive in their natures and where to continue to hang around the perimeter of Ireland creating conflict with all of the consecutive Scythian Celtic inhabitants well into the future. Partholon the Scythian leader of the Partholonians was to meet his end on the Liffey Plain in the region now known as Co. Dublin - Mid Eastern Leinster but despite the ongoing Fomorian harassment his followers were able to increase their numbers over the years that were to lie ahead for them in Ireland. 2649 BC the Fomorians under the leadership of Cical "Grigenchosach," a son of Goll, a son of Garbh, together with his mother, arrived on to the mainland of Ireland to establish their authority over the Partholonians. With 800 of their followers they engaged the Scythians in the Battle of Sleamhnai Magh Ithe and many of the Fomorians were slain during the conflict being totally defeated by the Partholonians. 2500 BC a small migration was also carried out at this time by another Indo - European tribe, of which the Celts - Keltoi are part of. They were to journey into Asia Minor from the north - west across the Dardanelles into the Peninsula and their descendants are among the ancestors of many of those in India today. 2379 BC After nearly 300 years of a continuing existence in Ireland the Partholonians had prospered and their numbers had multiplied however during this year a Great Plague was to take 9,000 of them all within a week including 5,000 men & 4,000 women. This was to occur in the region known as Sean Mhagh Ealta Edair or Taimhleacht Muinntear Parthaloin were they were all to assemble in case they should die and this allowed them to bury those that did. This terrible disaster meant that there were to be then basically no inhabitants in Ireland for the next 30 years. 2349 BC saw the next great wave of major Scythian migration into Ireland who where to come from the south - eastern part of Europe from near the Euxine Sea. They too were led by another descendant of *12.Magog known as Nemedh - Neimheidh, his wife, Macha and his chiefs, Ainnin, Fearghus "Leithdheirg," Iarbhaine the Prophet and Sdarn. (Within 12 days of their arrival into Ireland his wife, Macha was to die.) Eventually Nemedh and 2,000 of his followers too were to perish in another outbreak of Plague. This time it occurred on the Great Island of Barrymore off the coast of Co. Cork - Southern Munster. Nemedh's remaining followers, later known also generically as the "Nemedians," were to then continue in occupation of Ireland for over 200 years. They too also found themselves subject to the constant harassment of the Fomorians, the descendants of 11.Ham, who were tall in stature and very destructive in their natures. (Later on another Scythian Celtic - Teutonic race, the Fir Bolg - Men of the Bag who were also to be descended from *12.Magog through Nemedh, were to later return to Ireland. They were to have a great respect for the abilities of the Fomorians believing that they had unusual powers but despite this they where always able to deflect their attacks. ) In the mean time the Nemedians, who had arrived after the Partholonians, and who had survived the second Plague, where still able to defeat the Fomorians in three major battles. They were to then decide that they could take no more of their constant harassment and overbearing lordship. They intended instead to carry out a direct siege on the Fomorian main tower fortress on Tory Island. 2133 BC was to be the actual year that the original surviving Nemedians where to become engaged in their siege against the Fomorian fort on Tory Island and during the battle the Fomorian leader, Conaing was killed and they seized the fort. The Nemedians had gained the upper hand but they then had a reversal as further Fomorian reinforcements had arrived from Africa. Unknown to them the Fomorians had sent for help and Morc another Fomorian Chief had arrived with further warriors. The conflict then continued on and the Nemedians were driven back to the coast where many were either killed outright or drowned. After this devastating defeat and further attacks they became apprehensive if any of them would ever be left alive if they continued their stay in Ireland. They decided it would be best to leave Ireland altogether and escape from the Fomorian persecution. They were to split into three (3) separate Nemedian groups who were to go their own individual way to seek their destiny elsewhere. Despite this ominous departure their Scythian Nemedian descendants within the next 200 years would return to Ireland as two new distinct evolving individual tribes. |
