                                                                                 1466 AD -  1470 AD

1466 AD Teague / Tadhg "an Chomahaid" O Brian was the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain King of Thomond / Northern Munster.

Turlough O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain King of Munster formed an alliance of Irish Chiefs in Mogha's Half in Southern Leinster and Munster Province, who devastated large areas so that he gained territory back in Co. Limerick and in the south of Co. Tipperary and there was even talk now of inaugurating him as the King of Ireland but he had previously acknowledged Henry O Niall supreme becoming in reality his vassal. The Irish Kings of O Niall, O Donnell, O Connor, O Brian, Mac Carthy, Mac Murrough and Kavanagh were all involved in a delicate alliance at this period in time, as were the Anglo - Irish Earls of Kildare, Desmond, Butler and Burke.

On the death of Teague / Tadhg "an Chomahaid " O Brian his brother, Conor "na Shrona" / of the Big Nose O Brian, who was also a son of Turlough "Bog" / the Soft O Briain, became the next Dalcassian King of Thomond / Northern Munster and was to continue to rule for 30 years until 1496 AD. With his Anglo - Irish kinsman, Mac William / Burke from the Clan Rickarde in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province he waged war on the O Kellys from the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Maine / Hy Many Sept along with the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill O Donnells from Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province and Mac William Eighter / Burke. The Dalcassians and the Anglo - Irish Clan Rickarde won the day in a battle near Galway City in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht and peace was to continue there for another 20 years.

Thomas Fitz Gerald the 7th English Earl of Desmond who was the English Deputy in Ireland for Edward 1V the English Yorkist King of England was captured by the Heberian Cianachta O Connors of Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster and Edward 1V was determined to replace him then with Sir John Tiptoft the English Earl of Worcester . He was previously the Treasurer to the English King, and he was also known as “Butcher” Tiptoft  because of all the Lancasters he had previously executed.

1467 AD Teague 4th O Kelly was the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Maine King who had their territory in the east of Co. Galway and Co. Roscommon in the east of the Connacht Province.

On February 14th: Thomas Fitz Gerald the 7th English Earl of Desmond had his stronghold at Killmallock in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of the Munster Province were he was known to be sympathetic to the people of Ireland and totally committed to the future of Ireland and his removable as the English Lord Lieutenant in Ireland and subsequent murder was to have great consequences.

In September: Sir John Tiptoft the English Earl of Worcester representing Edward 1V the English Yorkist King arrived in Ireland and had Thomas Fitz Gerald the 7th English Earl of Desmond immediately accused of treachery to the English Crown and arrested in Drogheda and was to have his head cut off without a trial. Sir John Tiptoft then also laid claim to some of the Irish territories held by the Fitz Gerald  Desmonds in Co. Cork in Southern Munster. The Irish people had held Thomas Fitz Gerald with such esteem and respect that they believed that to lose him would be the total ruin of Ireland and with great sorrow they buried his body beside the Atlantic Ocean at Tralee in Co. Kerry in the south - west of Munster. Meanwhile the other branch of the Fitz Geralds who were the Earls of Kildare had also by now married into every leading Irish Sept / Family branch.

In December: Sir John Tiptoft who represented Edward 1V the English Yorkist King was to hold his first Anglo - Irish Parliament and the Universities at Drogheda and Armagh were destroyed by the English forces to ensure there was to be no further higher education in Ireland.

February 15th: Thomas Fitz Gerald the 7th Earl of Desmond was taken from the Dominican Friary in Drogheda where he was being held prisoner and executed immediately and the whole of Ireland was in shock. Garret Fitz Gerald his brother then went north to Meath burning, wasting and destroying with 20,000 men plus 2,000  horsemen. Fitz Eustace the Treasurer panicking then freed his kinsman, the Earl of Kildare from prison in Dublin and O Connor "Faly" and Kavanagh from south - east Leinster also joined Garret Fitz Gerald. Sir John Tiptoft had brought 500 archers from England and succeeded in defeating Garret Fitz Gerald but rebellion also broke out in other areas and O Reilly the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin King of East Breifne raided into Co. Louth in the north - east  of Northern Leinster from out of Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster, Garret Fitz Gerald went into Co. Tipperary, Henry O Niall killed the English Seneschal in the Ulster Province massacring 500 men and all of Leinster Province was in total revolt. Sir John Tiptoft then made peace with Fitz Gerald the Earl of Kildare who was later pardoned by Edward 1V the English Yorkist King, if he procured peace in Ireland and the Parliament removed his Attainder subject to his bringing Leinster Province back into to peace and all of this now brought the Earl of Kildare to the forefront in Irish politics. Garret Fitz Gerald kept himself busy in Desmond / Southern Munster until his nephew, James Fitz Gerald, the son of the murdered 7th Earl of Desmond finally succeeded to the Earldom there. The English Government recognized James as the 8th Earl of Desmond but he refused to reconcile with Dublin or Edward 1V the English Yorkist King, and this meant that Fitz Gerald the Earl of Kildare was to come now to the forefront being left to assume overall Anglo - Irish political leadership in Ireland.
