     A Dominican Friary was founded on the River Loobagh and the Irish Franciscans in Co. Cork in Southern Munster fought against the imposition of English monks being introduced there.

1297 AD - 1299 AD The English Planted towns were growing in size and the first Anglo - Norman Parliament for Ireland was established and administered in the castle at Kilkenny only by "loyal English" colonists with no Irish allowed and the first of the Irish Penal Laws were introduced, which included no Irish dress, no Irish musicians and no Irish storytellers. Ireland was also divided into 12 English Shires, Cork / Munster, Dublin & Carlow / Leinster, Connacht, Kerry / Munster, Kildare / Leinster, Limerick / Munster, Louth & Meath / Leinster, Roscommon / Connacht, Tipperary and Waterford / Munster. The English Parliament outlawed all Gaelic culture and Anglo - Irish incursions in dress etc - as they were " Uncivilized, wild, savage - even bestial and especially  emotional instead of reason."

1298 AD Donough / Donnchad was the Heberian Cianacht Luigni King who had their territory at Leyney in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province.

     The Anglo - Norman de Burghos and Fitz Geralds had been constantly at Civil War between themselves in Ireland throughout the previous Century and John Fitz Thomas Fitz Gerald agreed to withdraw from the Connacht Province and settle in the Midlands / Mide while another branch had Irish Estates in Co. Limerick, Co. Kerry and Co. Cork and to the east of Waterford in Co. Waterford who became the English Earls of Desmond / Southern Munster. Others in the north of Co. Kerry and Co. Limerick became the Knights of Glin and the English Earls of Kerry throughout the Midlands / Mide and the Munster Province.

1300 AD The Pope decreed that Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin in Co. Dublin the north - east of Southern Leinster was to be the the main Catholic Cathedral for the whole See of Ireland, giving it preference over St. Patrick's Cathedral.

    Giolla Iosa "Ruadh" - of Red Complexion - O Reilly from the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Sept from their kingdom of East Breifne founded a Franciscan Friary there at Cavan in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster.   

     Richard de Burgo / Burgh / Burke, the English Red Earl, began the building of Ballymote Castle in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province and founded the Loughrea Carmelite Friary in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht, which is now restored. - Dunluce Castle in Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province was also built this year.

     Teboit Butler / Le Buitleir the Anglo Norman Baron, died.  - Adam Stanton / Standon / Staunton originally de Stonndun - the Anglo - Norman Baron of Carra Loch in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province, died this year.  - John Prendergast / de Priondragas  who was in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province was killed by Fiachra O Flynn, the son of Flann, the King of Muskerylinn / Muiscre Ui Fhloinnn under the O Connor Kings of Connacht and Seanan "Og" Mac Muiris was killed by Conor O Flainn, along with many of his followers.  

    The O Gradys assisted by the O Deas supported Donnell / Domhnall the son of Mac Con to gain a part of the territory of the Ui Caisin in Co. Clare from his kinsmen, Donough the son of Cuvea and they besieged the territory there and defeated him in battle in which most of his followers were slain, including Hugh the son of Cuvea, Conor and Mahon the sons of Maloney, Maolesaghlen, the son of Sheeda, O Halloran and Conor the son of Conduv O Healy

     Felim / Feidlimid Mac Carthy the Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil Prince of Des Mhumhain / Desmond /Southern Munster, died this year as did Congalach O Loughlin / Lochlainn the Bishop of Kilfenora, in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province.

     Eochy O Hart / Eochaidh Ui hAirt, the son of Donnell / Domhnall O Hart, the Clann Kelly / Ceallaig Chief was killed by the English.

     Uilliam Mag Flannaid the Irish Chief of Dartry was killed by Uallgarg O Rourke from the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Breifne Sept in Co. Leitrim in Northern Connacht.

     The Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain Sept were by now the overall Kings of Ulster.
