1241 AD 111.Donough "Cairbreach" O Brian who was the Dalcassian King of Thomond who had accepted the English title of Lord of Thomond had finally finished the Ennis Abbey in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province, which he granted to the Franciscan friars and close by still are the ruins of Clare Abbey and Killone Abbey, which where previously built by his father, 110.Donnell "Mor" O Brian in the 12th Century AD.

     Meyler de Bermingham the Anglo - Norman Baron was now the 2nd English Baron at Athenry in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht and he founded a Dominican Friary church there and a Franciscan Friary was also built nearby at Athlone in Co. Westmeath on the River Shannon were there is a stone on the bridge signifying the boundary between Leinster Province and Connacht Province. 

     St. Finnian's monastery was built at Aghadoe - Achadh da Eo - The Field of the Two Yews - in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province.

1242 AD Brian O Dowd - Dubda 1st was the Northern Ui Fiachrach Muaide King of Tir nAmalgaid - Tir Awley in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province.

    111.Donough "Cairbreach" O Brian, the elected Heberian Dal gCais King of Thomond - Northern Munster and English appointed Lord of Thomond, died, and his son, 112.Conor "na Suidane" O Brian became the King of Thomond until 1267 AD who had two sons, 113.Teague - Tadhg O Brian and 113.Brian O Brian. The English were still in control of Killaloe, in eastern Co. Clare, which was the previous O Brian stronghold for centuries so he set up at Clonroad - The Meadow of the Long Rowing - at Ennis the main town in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province. 

      Hugh de Lacy the Anglo - Norman Baron, died, leaving no heir and it was to be Walter de Burgho aka Bourke who took up his position followed later on by Richard the "Red Earl " de Burgh with the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin O Malleys becoming subject to them.

1243 AD  John Fitz Gerald who was the son of Thomas Fitz Gerald the English Earl of Desmond built the Dominican priory of The Holy Cross at Tralee in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province and another was also founded for the same order in the town of Cashel in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province near the Rock of Cashel the previous fortress of the Munster Kings.

1244 AD Geoffrey de Turville an Anglo - Norman became the Bishop of Ossory - Co. Kilkenny in south - west of the Leinster Province.

      The Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin O Malleys who were basically the Lords of the Isles in the west of Ireland founded a Carmelite Friary on Clare Island in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province, which is still in existence there today and  "The O Malley "Mor" himself founded the Murrisk Abbey on the southern shores of Clew Bay where there is a tomb of the O Malleys still existing and from the Murrisk Abbey there is a pathway leading to the Holy Mountain of Croagh Patrick.  

      Walter de Burgo aka Burke the Anglo - Norman Baron who was now the English Earl of Ulster founded a Friary at Newtownards in Co. Down in the south - east of the Ulster Province, which he dedicated to 91.St. Columbcille - Columba and interred therein are members of the Montgomery and the Stewart families.

1245 AD Cormac O Mulrooney aka Mulrony - Ui Mael "Ruanaid" was the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin King of Mag Luirc at Moylurg in Co. Roscommon in Eastern Connacht.

      A castle was constructed in the town of Sligo in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province to guard the crossing at the ford against the Irish Septs.

1247 AD Donough Mac Gilla Patrick, the son of Anmchaid Mac Gilla Patrick, from the Heremonian Connla kingdom of Ossory - Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of the Leinster Province and Turlough O Connor from the Ui Briuin Ai in the Connacht Province began a great war against the English takeover in the Connacht Province and Donough Mac Gilla Patrick killed Fitz Elget the Anglo - Norman English appointed Seneschal of Connacht.

      Rory - Ruaidri was the Northern Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill King of Tir Conaill in Co. Donegal in the west of the Ulster Province and was to be followed by Mael "Sechnaill" O Donnell as the King of Tir Conaill.

     112.Conor "na Suidane" O Brian the Dalcassian King of Thomond - Northern Munster finally had completed the Franciscan monastery at Clonroad in Abbey Street were the ruins are still there next to the River Fergus in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province and there was a Gothic style church constructed at this time also at the O Brian's old stronghold at Killaloe still occupied by the English forces. 

1248 AD Godfraid was the Northern Ui Niall Cenel Conaill King of Tir Conaill in Co. Donegal in west of the Ulster Province.

1249 AD Donough Mac Gilla Patrick, the son of Anmchaid Mac Gilla Patrick, the son of Donough Mac Gilla Patrick was killed by the English.

      The English now built a stone castle on the site of the ancient capital of the Dal Fiatach kingdom of Mourne at Green Castle in Co. Down in the south - east of the Ulster Province to defend the entrance to the Carlingford Loch against the Irish Septs.

1250 AD The Celestine Order, founded by Pope Celestine V who was to resign as the Pope, was a branch of the Benedictines, which were to come to an end in 1785 AD.

      Diarmait was the Heberian Cianacht Luigni King at Leyney in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province.

      Niall O Cananain was the Northern Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill King of Tir Conaill in Co. Donegal in the west of the Ulster Province.

      The English now controlled most of Ireland except for small areas were the Irish Kings are allowed to rule under strict supervision and high taxation and the Gaelic Irish Chiefs began a concerted resistance against any further Anglo - Norman encroachments and revolts began in the Connacht Province and Leinster Province, especially in Co. Meath. Unfortunately the Northern Ui Niaill in the Ulster Province were brought into conflict with each other while they were attempting to bring about some unity among their Septs there to oust the Anglo - Normans in their Province. With the Irish against the Irish this type of conflict reduced their numbers and further suited the purposes of the Anglo Norman English as Brian O Niall the Ui Niaill King of Tir Eogan - Tyrone tried to combine the Tuaths - Family regions intending to revive the position of High King and then drive out the "foreign" invaders and he was to continue on with this plan until the year 1260 AD. With the assistance of his kinsman from the Northern Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill, Donnell "Mor" O Donnell the King of Tir Conaill - Dun na Gall - Co. Donegal in the west of the Ulster Province he was eventually to once again be able to secure the highest position among the Ui Niaill Septs. He was to become the King of Ulster after defeating the other heir apparent, Donnell Mac Lochlainn - Laughlin the Ui Niaill King of the other Cenel Eogain Sept who controlled the kingdom of Ulaid in eastern Ulster along with Orghialla - Airghialla - Oriel that took in Co. Armagh and Co. Monaghan and the adjacent Co. Louth in north - east of the Leinster Province.

      Fitz Hugh Roche the Anglo - Norman Baron founded Bridge Town Abbey at Castle Town Roche in Co. Cork in Southern Munster and they had their Castle there also at Ballyhooly - Baile Atha hUlla and his family too was to eventually also become "More Irish then the Irish."   

      A Franciscan Friary was built at Multyfarnham - Muilte Farannain in Co. Westmeath in the north - west of the Leinster Province during this period and is still there today after being restored together with a modern Franciscan College on the site and another was built at Clane in Co. Kildare in Central Leinster on the River Liffey but it is now in ruins, with another also there at Bodenstown and another there at Castle Dermot while the Abbey Lara was also founded in Co. Longford in the north - west of the Leinster Province.

     Malachy O More the Irian King of Co. Laois in the mid - west of the Leinster Province, died, and was buried in his tomb there in Abbey Leix.            

      The Mac Mahons the Heberian Dalcassian Chiefs descended from Mahon O Brian at this time held the Urlanmore Castle at Newmarket on the River Fergus in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province.

      King John's Castle was finally finished at Athenry in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht.
