112.Cathal "Crobhdhearg" O Connor the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin 58th King of Connacht, died at Abbey Knockmoy in Co. Galway in Southern Connacht and this led on to the O Connor Septs fighting a civil war between them as to who would be their next Ui Briuin King there. 111.Donough "Cairbreach" O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais King of Thomond who was the uncle of Hugh O Connor backed him with his Dalcassian warriors and an English contingent while the Ui Niaill Septs joined in with the other members of the O Connor Septs as to their choice as to who should be their future Ui Briuin King of Connacht but were then forced to retreat. Further "switching" policies were then utilised by the Anglo - Norman Barons as these same opposing O Connors Septs in Connacht then were assisted by the English to raid the mBriain Dal gCais territory in the north of Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province for interfering, and they were then able to defeat the Dalcassians, which further added to the English purpose.

The Ui Niaill Septs under the leadership of Aedh O Niall the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Cuinn "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain King in Tir Eogain - Tyrone meanwhile kept out of the conflicts occurring in the Ulster Province and he then allied with his kinsman, Donnell "Mor" O Donnell the Heremonian "Northern" Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill King at Dun na Gall - The Fort of the Strangers - Co. It had then been granted to William & Philip de Braosa aka Bruce by his son, King John, to do the same but the mBriain Septs had continued to still survive.   Thomas de Clare built a stone castle at Bunratty in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province where previously Robert de Muscegrow the Anglo - Norman had built a castle made out of wood and he then brought in English Planters but later on the castle would eventually pass into the hands of Sir Thomas Rokeby the English King's Justicar from whom it was to be later taken back by the Dalcassians who were to then defeat him in battle.

Galway in the south - west of the Connacht Province, which was situated on Loch Corrib, and he also built the Dun Lure Castle on the north coast of Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province. The Galway area in Co.
